Waiting for God

The title of this image was inspired by a long conversation I had with a friend about why most Nigerian women in my opinion were single. I think it's because they are all waiting for God.

Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. Ecclesiastes 11:4 (New Living Translation)

Absolutely love it. Fantastic work! smile
Jide Alakija: Thanks AD
Your interpretation of this picture struck me. In my opinion, it is ok to wait. But do not sit still while waiting...be busy. The woman in the picture is doing the exact opposite!
I like the picture and the interpretation makes it better.I am one of your fans by the way. Good work.

Are you sure this lady is waiting for God? Me thinks this lady is already married and settled and was just simply having a mid day rest under what seems like a shade, before she continues .

It is true farmers must act or else the perfect time may never arise (and they become hungry and impoverished); but there is also such a thing as the appointed time, and the appointed place. I think this is what most of the ladies were probably refering to .

Jidechukwu how have you been?
Good stuff, Jide, though, I'm surprised you went with color here.
I know close to nothing about Nigerian women, but I'm afraid it's a two way street, Jide. I think men are responsible for the status quo (and not only in Nigeria) in equal measure. It takes guts and lots of effort to be a good husband and a father. And seems not every man is ready to trade the freedoms of being single for the joys of a family life.
like the shot, though I'd compose the lady closer to the right edge.
a beautiful and poignant portrait with some thought-provoking ideas. thanks for sharing this.
I love it as it is !!
Niceee smile
