Pit Performance #1

Sorrry guys, you had to go a day without me posting. It's no excuse considering that it was a weekend. Also I have a whole load of new stock to put up which I should have posted. Well the reason I wasn't able to post was because I didn't spend enough time in the office to process the images I wanted to post.

Anyway, on Saturday I had a few moments to spare en route to a party so I thought I'd walk around Covent Garden and grab some images. I haven't been very successful of late at picking out moments in this location so I thought I'd try one more time.

Some of you may know this part of the market very well, usually the pit (as I call it) is open to Violin buskers, I thought I'd intrude on their party and grab some images, lucky for me my intrusion helped them alot as the crowd saw them as important icons of the market, so much so that a photojournalist with his massive camera had to document their work. Naturally these guys put up a display for me.

Can't really find your focus in this shot but I like it regardless, it looks like they were having fun.
Jide Alakija: I'll give you a better shot tomorrow. I personally love this shot for what it is really not so much for the technical aspects. I think it works. smile

It appears the second flautist (left and rear) is the focus, at least she is in focus.
Jide Alakija: Yup that's true

But the beauty of the shot is the way it captures motion without stopping it.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Boye
Great idea .. I like the flutes being alongside eachother ... but the dof looks a tad disorganised.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Richard.
I like the movement on this. PS I could tell it was Covent Garden as soon as I saw it ;-)
Jide Alakija: Thanks Mark.
love the festive mood captured
Jide Alakija: Thanks Doc!
Like it very much, for me shows the difference between those who can (sometimes) and those who know why the can (all the time) smile

The norm is to have the person in front be the centre of attraction, love the way you turn the viewers "norm" and say, thats not what I want you to see smile

See what you where aiming for and this would not be out of place at an exhibition (okay with one or 2 minor tweaks) smile
Jide Alakija: Thanks Blad!

I'm with Yinka on this one...

But to be constructive, it would resonate better with people like myself who have no frame of reference if you at least tighten up the technical...like say the staircase on the left. IF you had moved to your left and re-framed...would have at least told a decent story and probably provided some repetition in composition...

Food for thought...
