Our Vocation #2 : The Disc-Jockey

Yesterday I got criticized for spoiling the picture with my frustration with "Mista Bush's" visit to the UK. I promise that from now on I will keep such frustrations to images that I'm not exactly and entirely pleased with.

Someone sent me a really cool quote today that I thought I'd share. For those of you that are religious you might really like this and for the rest I think there is a lesson to learn from it.

It goes...

"When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, Trust Him fully and let go, only 2 things will happen, either He'll catch you when you fall or He'll teach you how to fly"

I just thought this might be very relevant to someone who is reading this blog in search of inspiration.

Love this shot, would love it more if you told us you have one without the second guy in the shot. He adds nothing to the shot, but the jockey guy still makes it a great shot (and edit) smile
Jide Alakija: I don't agree with you re: the second guy! You've got to be careful how you read images like these especially those within the journalistic context. Often you have a lot of so called unnecessary distractions in these types of photos.
Nope you miss the point, love the shot as it is, "WOULD JUST LOVE IT MORE WITHOUT THE 2ND GUY"

You got to be careful how you read comments especially those with a journalistic context smile Beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder smile
Jide Alakija: Oh I agree, however this is not about beauty, most shots like these aren't, it's about the story. Remember it's not what you prefer. You should be asking yourself the question, "What is Jide trying to say with this photo? If he left this guy in the shot was it intentional?"

Look at the works of Daniel Cima, George Osodi Et al and you'll understand what I mean. A lot of rules are broken when it comes to these but that is for a reason known other than what is the story behind the photo.
Know you left it in intentional, know what story you was trying to capture and know you captured exactly what you wanted and how you wanted it to be and be conveyed...... BUT still wish you have a similar one without the second guy smile

Used the word "Beauty" as could not think of anything else smile Maybe should have use "interpretation" (or will that open up anther whoop ass from you? ) tongue
Jide Alakija: Suby, GO TO BED!

Cool shot. As Yinks stated, the second guy adds authenticity to the shot. Good work.
Maybe the secon guy gives some context ...
Maybe Jide prefers the less than perfect composition ...
Maybe he left it in on purpose to encourage comments ...
Maybe some people are just being provacative ...
Maybe we shouldn't comment on every image ...
Maybe I won't ...
