The Gifted Child

Everyone has a gift. I very much believe this. What our specific gifts are is something I guess we dedicate our whole lives to in finding out. It's sometimes really funny because some of us find out so late that we are amazed that we never got to know about it till then. I believe in such circumstances a smile usually projects itself on our faces. This because we realise that we have always utilised this gift throughout our lives without knowing. It's almost like being a super hero and not knowing that allyour life you've saved so many people's lives, made a big difference to the whole world.

It's amazing!!!

This photo was captured at a recent Gospel event to which I was commissioned to capture the images that in my opinion truly represented what was happening. This is a young lady who was no doubt gifted, I bet you she would probably argue that it wasn't her best performance and she would probably say that this wasn't so much a gift but the result of hardwork. That can be true but in the eyes of the many they see a gifted child someone who has somehow stood out from the rest. They can all sing, they can all do what she is doing but she does it somewhat differently, "...there's something about the way she does it", that's what I call the gift.

What's your gift? What is that thing that people say you do so well or that makes you standout in a way that they have to call that trade yours? That thing we all say you were BORN to do?

I'm still searching for mine and NO it's not in photography, that's just the result of hardwork.

Great one !!! I love her atitude and the fact we can see her behind too !!! Well captured !!!
Am lovin it as well smile She's in the moment, I would say she's gifted.
Don't know why, this image lacks the Alakija oomph. Just okay,
Nice b+w, love how you captured the moment here.
uhmmm...if u say ur gift isn't photography, in a sense I might agree with u.
I would proceed to say photography is a manifestation of that elusive gift. Might I guess? Uhmmm...a gift for connecting and empathising with people, a 6th sense for taking advantage of that defining moment, etc., and oh heck I'm just blabbing smile

btw: LOVE the previous shot!

Remember when you went on and on about being a 'Hero'? Your gift really is that you're able to connect, to see the heart in every person, even in the nastiest of people. Deji 77 is so right. People talk to you and they trust you, so they tell you who they really are. And when you finally decide to get all snap-happy, they tell it to your camera too.

That said, I am not in love with this image honey. But I'm definitely liking the blurb smile
