Portobello Simon #1

This is a chap Skee and I met at Portobello Market during one of our trips there. I can't remember his name but for some reason I'd like to call him Simon - doesn't he look like a Simon?

I photographed him three times on this day - One with him looking directly into the camera and another with him from the waist up. I prefer this one as it's slightly different from my usual intense look into the lens. What do you think of my choice of look this time?

I've really enjoyed the stories some of you have made up around some of my other characters. So I'm asking you to tell me what you think is on Simon's mind. What do you think he does?

Simon is a stand-up comedian? And has a super sense of humour.

First of, when I saw this I thought he could pass as one of Desmond's friends (remeber porkpie, no resemblance of course just he could).. ahhh.. thats for nother day.

In short I can't think of what he might be saying but I think he could be involved in some comic roles..

Love it.
Great work once again, I love the texture and I'd like to be able to reach this nevel of art !!

Like he's just seen a beautiful woman walk by and he is too shy to look directly at her.
The detail on this is fantastic. Looks like a pretty girl caught his eye.
Awesome, awesome shot the PP is top notch no doubt.

It always amazes me when I see a photograph that has such depth to it that it it has a feel to it. This reminds of Nicholas Nixon's work. It has such a texture to it that I want to run my fingers over it and expect to feel that texture. Fantastic shot.

I think Simon sir is a mechanic in Cuba.. eyeing up a choice American 1960's Chevvie that was smuggled in on a boat. Hes excited as hell - s hes only read of these cars in the old oiled up textbooks at the Federal school of mechanics , Cuba.
The only problem is a board game withsome cane rum is calling to him.. together with his wife- Mercedes'(she would have to be callled Mercedes)- steaming pork and bean soup..

He looks more like a SOLOMON to me..... and it seems like he just conjured a memory... Like when he first met his wife when they were youngsters..... smile
