Foofie #1

Following the same picture processing techniques as yesterdays image. (in fact can you tell what the main theme is that ties both together?)

Don't know if any of you know this shutterchancer? Yes we have some hot lookers behind the camera too on the chance. This was a shot taken last Christmas in Lagos, Nigeria. I thought I'd use the exotic feel of the banana tree leaves to represent the location. The lighting was done using my Canon EX580 with the omni bounce attached.

As for post processing, all I've done is slight exposure increase and my usual skin softening using a Gaus blur layer set with a 30% transparency. Also I've done some contrast increase using curves. For the eyes (I bet you are wondering about that one too) I normally dodge the corneas to bring them out slightly. So Bruno, is this enough information for you?

Any questions?

Foo looks real nice! me likey!
Jide Alakija: Thanks tp, I'm sure she'll appreciate that.
This is really nice Jide. The colours as always r brilliant.
With the gauss layer, did u still have to bring out the details in the curves of her facial features like her nose, the lines on her skin, etc.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Deji, re: blur layer, no I didn't bring out detail, remember I don't do too much blurring, only enough to soften the skin. I also tend to eraser the bit on the layer around the teeth and eyes to bring those out.
I dont get it, where is MY reply?

is it cuz I didnt say something along the lines of, blur, DOF...??
Jide Alakija: Aha now! You know we are both connected mentally....so I don't need to reply your comments. Besides I already gave you my response last night. The first reply technically speaking.
This is fantastic. F looks really lovely in this shot. Where was this? N plssss Jide r u just exceedingly good or can u not pass this skill around..to me at least smile
Jide Alakija: This was taken in Lagos. I've explain the techniques behind this shot in my little commentary below the photo. Is there something else you'll like me to clarify?

Focus contrast or dos of dof is can be less. It is giving an artificial ambiance to Alakija's works. Without this everything is good and masterish! ta
Jide Alakija: Dos of DOF? What do you mean?
nope u're right... all i saw was Foluso in an awesome picture n i started typing. I am leaving work to go practice NOW
Jide Alakija: LOL...enjoy if you are in London then maybe one day we can all organise a shoot.

Very nice, lovely picture smile
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ellie.
Foofie is lovely no? Jide you and the Subster have made me realize that I need to know a liitle bit at least about photoshop. Does Gausian Blur always soften or would it be better to use a soft focus filter?
Jide Alakija: You'll get a better result with a soft focus filter. The blur doesn't always work.
Great job here Jide and I am not saying that cuz its me smile.. I forgot about this picture. Thanks for the processing information, will give it a shot.
Jide Alakija: I think the model made this shot actually. The rest was easy. smile

What i really like about this image is the fact that you focus in on her face and blur out the hands even though they are much closer to the observer than her face. Pretty good call. It would have diverted attention away from her, but then again i'm sure you know that. smile I like it. nice nice.

Wonderful stuff, Jide.

Both faces (today's and yesterday's) are framed by hands and shallow field of focus and there is an element of green in each. Not sure what else you had in mind as the tie between the two.
