Handle with care

Today was a very interesting day, I usually don't share my spiritual or faith side on my photoblog, I think I'll talk abit about that today. As some of you know I'm a Christ follower and as such go to church on Sunday and do all the happy clappy christian thing. Well I'm currently working for a charity called Alpha and we're preparing for a big international conference we are all the major delegates (bishops and pastors) world wide meet to discuss church growth issues.

Anyway right to the point, Alpha is a christian organisation and as such working in the office of christians is really weird for me. As one person said, it's probably the only place where you can say the word "Jesus" and you wouldn't be looked at as someone swearing. Anyway I had the pleasure of sharing my faith with a client on the phone and it was really weird for me as it's not something I'd do in a normal office setting.

I would have put a bit more detail on the discussion but I think I'll keep that to myself this time.

This is a great shot of a great couple who have just had a great baby. Please treat with care.

lol...I will treat it with care smile It's pretty lovely, send my warm congratulations to them.
Very beautiful shot. I like the way the fabric wraps protectivly around her and her baby. I can understand how you felt about sharing your faith with a total stranger. Sometimes God moves us in those ways, when the receiver on the other end wants to hear what you say.

It's like a celebration of all the good things in life. Very nice, Jide.
nice! great! wow!
definitely your most powerful image to date...appreciate u talking about alpha, if nothing else it gives me more of a sense of the photographer himself...
Very tender and beautiful image; I love the draped cloth. What I find interesting, Jide, is that I already knew that you had a found your spirituality inside you.... it is so evident in your images where there is an underlying energy that shines through (especially the way that you capture people).

for some reason i dont like this photo. maybe its the way her belly is popping out of the blanket...i think i prefer the pregnancy pictures either fully nude (the tasteful ones o,where there are no body parts showing) or fully clothed!
thats just my preference though, nothing to do with your work!

Its been a while since i visited your blog. Glad to see we've both gotten back to blogging again. Now on to the pic....

I think the glow/soft focus look is overdone here. You did a good job with the hairlight on the lady but the man's is lacking. I like the pose, composition and lighting but would have cleaned up the background a little more (bottom left corner). Yup, much easier to critique than to createsmile Good work...
great shot... i like the treatment and feelings that the artist give to the elements.

best wishes
Jide Alakija: Thanks Pedro.

Treated with care. smile Great shot. I'll call you when its time for my baby... a couple of years down the line, but i'll still call you. I really want something like this but without my husband. No offense. lol. its a mother and child portrait; the one with the husband would be separate. grin
Jide Alakija: Thanks Aibee
