Fashion test #1

I was really bored and found sometime to spare. I found a series of shots I took sometime ago for my portfolio. I decided I'd post them.

This is a shot of Vicki, the lady who modelled this shot and this shot. We were trying some fashion type looks. I personally don't think I'm that great at these so for a first try i was quite pleased with this one...well apart from the obvious blown out whites! There are three other shots that I've queued up and I quite like the natural shots. But first the fashion

Update on the thesis. Well so far so good. I've finally gained some momentum writing and now have about 70% of it completed. I still need to get some corrections from my Supervisor but it's looking good.

Ohh good lighting Mr Alakija....this is one of your best attempts on fashion photography!!
Now i would never be able to associate this picture with you even if i had 100 guesses.
Not a bad thing though.
Looks so very professional, maybe too professional.....lol
Jide Alakija: Oh dear...that's not a compliment at all. What you saying then????
c'est chic!
Good to hear you're making progress on your thesis, a daunting task indeed!

I like this very much. The whites are a little blown but it's still quite nice, unless the shot was about the jacket.
always good to get work done...
i remember her from that oriental series, btw ur links dont seem to be working
as for the shot it is very professional and i like her skin tone very much...
Jide Alakija: Thanks Sam. I've fixed the links now.

Hi Jide,

My mum showed me an article of your exhibition in Mercury Newspaper. It's great - Well Done!!! Have a great week and see you later.

Hey Jide, glad to hear your books are cookin now. There's no need to mention the blow out because you covered it and like Sam I remember her from the last series and I thought she had very beautiful face. I like the pose here and as it's your first fashion shot I think you've done very well. I wonder what the fashion guru Suby would have to say about this.

I didn't realise that you were out to play today Jide, lovely to see you. And with a lovely image to, this semi high key actually compliments those blown whites that you mention. very very lovely shot. mal

No matter how many time I see this image, I just can't help think

"SO WHY DIDN'T YOU CAPTURE THIS SHOT SUBY?" "Why leave it to THAT Alakija fella to capture it?" Aaaaaaahhhhhhhh

Okay calm down with the jealousy Suby lol

Well you and Sinem seem to in a race with finishing your thesis, hers is going well, she is on a break from it as she has gone back to work now, so in a few weeks it will be back to it full time again during her next holiday.

Jide Alakija: Oga you don't want to know how annoyed I am about my thesis. i just heard that my supervisor has just gone on holiday. He's not going to be back till Sept/Oct. That means who is going to read my thesis?
She looks totally different from the other pictures you have mentioned.
This looks awesome. The high key shot gels with the image nicely.

Very nicely lit. I really need to start trying more studio stuff.
Jide Alakija: All you need are the lights, the rest is up to you. I did all these in my living room.
A bit bleached out even though I can tell that thats what you where aiming for.I think its just the hands..but anyway I still absolute adore it...thanks for thr hand the other day...I truly appreciated the effort and help,....considering that you were very tired....something I am not going to forget in along time..
