Face off

A certain Management Consultant made a request for some inspiration. He claims Alakija.com hasn't been inspiring enough of late. I do agree. I think I've been struggling to find what it is that got me into photography in the first place. Not until he mentioned he wanted something Poetic.

Right this is as poetic as it gets today, it doesn't have to makes sense but you have to feel something. This is something I got from the concert yesterday. As it's supposed to be poetic what do you feel? What does it say to you? Or is it just plain rubbish?

You could have started with a poetic title, Jide!

I can't work out whether this lovely lady is wearing some sort of glittery eyeliner, or if it actually her eye which is illuminated here.

Beautiful soft tones in this one, it's certainly giving off a romantic vibe.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Andrew.
The person asked for something POETIC?!....LoL!

So, I was expecting some piano or guitar or something.....call me shallow!!

was she crying?....Y do all ur shots appear to me as if the person is crying, lately?......

I feel pity
Jide Alakija: Pity? Woman...easy!!!
the perspective is nice in my opinion but the message is confusing in the sense that I can't seem to place it as a romantic, poetic or inspirational shot but I speak for myself only smile
Jide Alakija: I guess that's the point. You make of it what you can. You are already sounding poetic. grin

Thanks Dotun.

I like it, looks like a painting. She looks like she lost something or someone.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Eni. I should be in Lagos on the 20th, send me your contact details.

Poetic, perhaps, as most poems seem to reflect inner emotions. This image is of someone who is reflective maybe, maybe longing for a lost love, maybe both or it just could be the end of a very long week and they're simply tired.

As for the brief for an inspirational shot I think you've acheived that becaused you've made the viewer ( us ) think, that's where inspiration springs from. The mood of the shot and the post is without doubt inspirational. Would I be happy with this if I were the client ..yes, but I'm not the client but I would be happy to add this to my portfolio.

That's the longest comment I've done to date.
Jide Alakija: Yup. The longest I've read from you. Thanks.

Frustratingly Brilliant! ...if there's such a thing.
Frustrating because i kinda wish i could see more...but then that's what makes it brilliant.

On the evidence of this i think you are still alive sir.....
Jide Alakija: Thank Feyi.

Far too obscure... not my cup of tea!
Jide Alakija: Can't please them all the time can you.

Big thank you for making a comment at least. Really appreciate it.
Nice shot. The lighting is great. The snap is touchy.
Jide Alakija: Thanks.

Well since you went poetic on this shot, It definitely not for a simpleton like me, seems others get it, I don't, all you artistic flary people and your artistic touches, poems with words, poems with pictures, one day I will really get it smile

Till then, keep being poetic.

well I like it. I think the lighting is great, gives it a real sense of atmosphere - what kind depends on how you look at it smile
Hi Jide,

Yep just plain old rubbish! wink

It's absolutely beautiful Jide! Some times when I see an arty image, I'm left needing more information about context or wish that the lighting was slightly better. With this image I know nothing about the context but I do not need to (nor do I care) because there is sufficient intimate detail with perfect lighting. Love it. Mal
