Solitary express

I wanted to do a shooting in the train series, but I couldn't get any good candid shots. I've decided not to do it any more and just post the shot I have anyway.

As I said I'm looking to start posting a different style of images as I want to explore some other parts of photography, some of the shots I'll be posting may not be to your liking but please be patient with me as I work on this aspect.

hey jide,

very nice candid shot. i like the lack of emotion on this guy's face. looks like he is so used to his daily routine that it is possible for him to navigate through it without thinking twice. i think that the conversion to b/w matches the mood. very nice.

Did he mind or is your camera that silent? Sometimes I like to be left alone like this, gives one time to reflect.

I've yet to do any good train candids with my proper camera. Only one I've managed was with my camera phone. Not bad. Looking forward to seeing what you'll be working on in future.

Nicely done. I see film poster or book cover. This is te kind of shot I'd have great difficulty with. Do you do it covertly? It's hard to see how, with an EOS 10D brick and a wideangle zoom. If not covert, then do you worry about their reaction?

And now I know what you look like, thanks to Suby. Let me apologise in advance for my perceived image of you, thanks largely to the nickname I've seen bandied about. (See Suby's post for that image.)

did the man know that you took his photograph? LOVELY COMPOSITION BUT i WILL LEAVE MORE COMMENT ONCE i GET YOUR RESPONSE
Jide Alakija: No he didn't and I took quite a few of him. I was concerned that he'd know as he I was right next to him when I took them. Okay what's your next question?
Great shot, i love the oustanding contrast!
