Light in the square.

Is this a sign of good things to come? I wonder. I haven't gone out shooting so you'll have to bear with me with the shots I have from the archives. I really love sunsets and this was taken on the same day as this shot . I didn't do too much to this one as I did to the previous one. The composition is deliberate in that I wanted to show a bit more sky in this I think it works as a silo.

I have another shot from the archives which I processed today that I'm happy with for tomorrow. Also I'm assisting Sarahlouise Johnson on a photoshoot tomorrow so I'm hoping that I'll be able to get some new material from the photoshoot, let's home I can post some too, fingers crossed.

Meanwhile like Skee said to me once "Jide there's loads out there, you just have to open your eyes to see them.", I went through Bela Tibor Kozma portfolio on his images from Nigeria and other African countries and I now see what Skee is saying. I've been sooooooooooo inspired by his work and recommend that you all have a look through his archive, he has some amazing photos. I now feel like I have to relearn my photography again as I've spent too much time with Photoshop than I have with my camera. Time to go out and look for the story behind the photos.

Are those two real or fake birds on the horses head. Nice PP on the sky
Jide Alakija: Everything in this shot is real, nothing added, nothing taken away, only cleaned the sky of sensor dust and curve manipulations. :d

That graduation of the toning Jide does it for me, truely beautiful. I think also the birds on the statue add a really quirky humour to the shot also. Love it
Jide Alakija: I should have a put a trivia on the number of birds in this shot...would have been interesting to see the response. Thanks.
This is a really good take on something that has been photographed to death, I really like it.
Jide Alakija: Thanks FP. You are right, it has been photographed to death.

Bro, that is why I always say, as a blogger, only put up up what makes you smile, not what you think people want to see. If you want to concentrate on the photography side then do, if you want to PP your images to kingdom come & back then do. If you want to do both, then do. If you just want to put up FUN images like http://russellhiggs.shutterchance.com/ then please do.

It is all about shooting what Jide like, what excites Jide, what makes Jide proud, maybe you need to rediscover that side of you. I have never forgotten the fact that the reason I got into photography was because I just love taking people pictures, I love portraits. I always snap them, but because I like dabbing into different genres and posting them up on my blog or just experimenting with photography, I tend to post a wide variety of images. My 1st love will always remain portraits, even though I do not post them all the time. I only post what excites the Subster, if and when the majority of the viewers do not like, I appreciate their comments, and still keep doing what the Subster likes, after all, it is the Subster's HOUSE innit. :d

Keep the fire burning bro, find ways to keep the fire burning.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Suby....but I'm sure that when I started this photoblog there was a reason that I kept on posting the images I post, I think that magic is lost for some reason, I'll get it back soon I'm sure.

Oh by the way, not feeling the shot. smile Whats with that thing bottom left?

Jide Alakija: Pity, I really like this one. Nothing wrong with the bottom left, I like it that way. I decided not to remove or add anything to this shot.
Lovely silhouette and the colors are amazing!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ashish.

Bit too much silo for me and (don't be offended) but it looks slightly Picasa....its ok tho, because my shots often look like that..BUT as i look more i like more....7.5/10
Jide Alakija: Not offended at all and yes I partly processed it in Picasa. wink
Beautiful shot, the tones and shadows are excellent.
