Incredible! That's what I think of Alakija.com. You are a true inspiration and the evolution of your work is phenomenal! Only one point I have to disagree with.... weddings are all about the kids! From your archives, your most evocative wedding photos are all of children (in my humble opinion). Keep it up!

Fabulous image ... I've just browsed your 'about' notes . I'd be interested to know your views on the difference / similarities between 'photo journalism' and 'street photography'. richard

Jide Alakija: Hi Richard, thanks for your message. In regards to your question, Photojournalism is basically the art of reporting the news in photographs, street photography is just the genre of photography where one takes photographs relating to street life. You can do a photojournalistic approach to your street photography if you choose, you could also do your fashion photography with Street photography.

I know you don't post quite so often these days, but when you do it's always worth the wait...

I am very well thank you, my day today consisted of a surprise 80th birthday party. The story behind the party is actual quite a special one which made today's celebrations incredibly touching. That was just to answer the question "how are you?"

As for Alakija.com you know for a fact this is one of my favourite sites for many reasons. One of them being that you can actually see a real development in your work and knowing you personally I think it also ties into your development as a person as well. Even if one does not know you personally they can still ascertain aspects of your personality, and to be able to share this through pictures is a form of art in itself and a true gift. There has been a definite change in your style of recent as you have grown in confidence. Nonetheless, I still value the integrity of your old work. I cant wait to see Alakija.com develop into its next phase/style, whatever that direction that maybe your work will always be recognisable.
