Today is my big day.
I really shouldn't be putting something like this up as it is work related but I couldnt' help but not share it. Okay the real truth is my stock is running very low at the moment and the weather over the past few days has been pretty poor not to say the least, finally I sense that some of you might have missed me yesterday. Enjoy the rest of your week. - Jide Alakija

appropriate title.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Banji
ahhh weddings! Please give us more wedding pics...give us more!
Lovely pic, beautiful bride, great capture. I don't know if I would be as bold as to allow the camera get that close to my face - no guts at all!!! ;D
Jide Alakija: You really want more wedding pics? The make up artist here is the brides sister, she had to be in the photo. Okay your wish is granted, you get a wedding pic tomorrow but only because you asked nicely.
Like the composition, framing and lighting here. No nits today
Jide Alakija: No nits? Or should I change my Schmood to red so you will be inspired? The trouble with shots with no nits is that they tend to be very boring...don't you agree?
Stunning shot. I love the depth of field and the gorgeous light. As well as the gorgeous face.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Mike.
I love this capture. It embodies those traditionally female, pre-nuptial rituals. Timeless and universal. (:o)
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ros.
Lovely shot!! Great DOF
Jide Alakija: Thanks Tolu.
Can't go wrong with your wedding shots
Jide Alakija: Darling you don't even know the half of it. The trouble with wedding photos is that most of the work is really down to the bride (and groom) if you have a rubbish venue, dress, church...the images don't turn out nice. Same goes to a good looking bride too.
Now I'd be confident about such a glam looking make-up artist making me up. Lovely bride too. Beautiful image.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Bridge.
Lovely picture with excellent composition. My only concern is the yellow tint to her brown skin (presumably unintentional); it appears in some of my work with brown skin girls, almost as if a gold reflector was used. Is this one of the shortcomings of our digital cameras (white balance) or flash systems? I don’t remember this happening with film.
Jide Alakija: Hi David. Nice to hear from you. To be honest I'm not sure what it would have looked like on Film. I did however put a golden tint on the image via white balance.
This is beautiful. it's her day definitely
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ade, yeah the make up artist too was part of the day as she was the brides sister.
Love it and yes please, give us more wedding shots as I have four coming up shortly this has given me some creative insight into what I might try, yes with a different take on things
Jide Alakija: Ok Ok Ok!!!! I'll post more wedding photos more often. I don't usually like posting work related stuff. I'll post another tomorrow.
Thanks J.
lol ok sir...Nice...*blink blink* errr am I ever anything but... too nice sef if you ask me ;D
I meant the bride allowing the camera as close to her face and not the make up artiste...
Good, solid shot. Work-related or not.
