Spring Challenge
I've recently been challenged to do something a bit different and to try and keep doing that for a while. I thought long and hard and I came up with this. I don't think this is to the taste of many but hey like I said this is a challenge. It's not really my comfort zone.
Enjoy!

this is such a fantastic photo. it's incredibly striking and i find myself strangely drawn to it. hmmmm....
Jide Alakija: Thanks. Maybe that's because if it's share size and detail. You never saw a flower so detailed had you? Nature has such beauty within it.
Capturing flowers are difficult for me too though you seem to have done a decent job of it here.
I've got tons of flower shots waiting to be processed so we'll see what i've learnt since the last time. I'd advise you to visit the Kew gardens once the weather clears up. Fantastic place
Jide Alakija: You know I will take you up on the offer. I'll head there maybe next weekend. Thanks.
Nothing wrong with this strong image, except the center is slightly soft, but not sure if that was your intention
Jide Alakija: Centre soft? Maybe you had some smudge on your screen, the centre is the sharpest bit. I know this because I worked on that part the most. Look again.
Lovely lovely lovely
Jide Alakija: ...is all you can say. Now that is definitely Suby (Not Sinem)
It's good to see a flower that isn't in glorious, garish, supersaturated technicolor! I know that colour is the whole point of flowers, but this one looks really good in b/w and I like the treatment. It's good to do something different otherwise you never progress - I'm doing lith printing in the darkroom at the moment and that certainly takes me out of my comfort zone. This would look good as a lith print.
Ingrid
Jide Alakija: Great comment. I wonder if you're based in London or close by, I'd like to try some darkroom printing too.
i like the subdued colour
and the shapes
Jide Alakija: It's about dynamic range. Remember what I told you about HDR, well this is something similar although I improved the dynamic range myself.
lovely shot Jide, I like the work you did on it too. How are you?
Jide Alakija: Thanks E, I'm well thanks. How about you?
Wow beautiful, stands out, I really like this. Another wall art for my new home.
Jide Alakija: LOL...thnx
You came out your comfort zone and did good
Jide Alakija: Thanks.
you are right, this surely isnt your comfort zone.the flower does not relate with spring one bit! When I think of spring,i hope this flower does not come to mind!!
Great exposure. I love the clarity and crispness in the center...very well framed as well.
I love it !!!
I've been considering some flower macro's recently Jide, your lovely image has inspired me to get on with it. mal
Well I like and sometime one can only grow when you work out of your comfort zone. Great shot and hope to see more.
This is gorgeous! The detail is perhaps more apparent because it isn't in colour. And I agree with you, the centre is sharp! Nicely done.
Suby would say 'Interesting' - his standard reply to flowers. 'Lovely' could be Sinem
Great picture and conversion.
comfort zone or not you certainly came up trumps with this effort, think the conversion has worked wonders
I like this.
