I do believe that when I do finally get to start that portfolio of mine that I've been putting off for the past year this would definitely go in with some others I am yet to put up some day. Again this is Claire, the lady from the fire eating series and rocker series. As I said before she is a lady of many talents and this was one of the shots from a shoot we did sometime ago. The make up was done by Eliza and the rest by Claire herself including the little stump of hair portruding a the top left, she thought it was cool, who am I to argue.

Streetphone is back but with a twist this time. I've decided not to use my camera phone anylonger as I'm having problems getting it to connect to my laptop. It's now my Black and White Street photography blog. Check it out

Congrats! This is your first "Studio" shot that I can't fault, top marks!

You have really done well on this shot!

But, don't get too carried away, "Studio stuff is like doing a still life painting

I really feel that there is more, much more to you and your work than this

I must comment on this first of all the eyes are not in focus, the hands are distratcing...you'd probably say I do not know what I'm talking about.......

I absolutely love the tones you have presented here, Jide. Wonderfully experimental to me, and the colours really complement the whole mood the model is portraying. Wonderful stuff, can't wait to get into some studio work once I'm back in Dubai in December now!

Very Bjorklike! I think you've nailed the colour combo and the crispness of the eyes. I think you could lose a few mm's off the top to remove the darker element of the background above her head and bring the eyes onto the third.

This is why I stick to inanimate objects! I could never achieve this therefore will not disappoint myself. It's the same with fireworks and smoke trails having seen Chromasia's...good to admire you both!

I can't say I'm a great fan of images like this. The artistic intent is obvious, and the soft tones make it pleasant to look at. Not my cup of tea really.

Looks like it was shot outdoors with a bit of fill-in flash? The setting is perfect but the red/purple hair is off-putting for me, and her left hand is a little too prominent. Post processing is up to your usual high standards. A very good picture, well done.

Jide I do not wish to be the one dissenting voice here, but am I the only one who thinks the arm (I assume it is the girls) coming in from the right of frame looks very strange, it's disconnected and ruins for me what would have been a stunning shot, the processing is wonderful as usual and the pose minus the arm is lovely, sorry...

I love this shot...but her left hand around the back of the pillar looks strange as if it isn't hers. I think it sould be even more fantastic without her left hand in the shot or the pillar in the shot to give the hand ownership.

I reread my comment and it wasn't quite clear (I am rushed). If the entire pillar was in the shot with her arm coming around it would give the hand ownership, I didn't mean to remove the pillar. I think it would be best if the left arm just wasn't there and the shot would be absolutely fantastic. Sorry if I confuzzled you.

hey Jide, I have a question. Im not sure what i did to my camera but sometimes when i try to take shots and im using the flash, theres like a delay. I dont know if u know what i mean. I have to like hold the shoot button down for a number of seconds before it actually seems to flash and take the shot...very frustrating. What do u think I did? A worried Elsie

This is brilliant Jide. The high key effect works a treat and I love the way it's punctuated so often with the bright warm colours of her finger nails, lips and hair, and those liquid ice eyes that are so amazing.
