I've decided to so some beach shots for a change, enough experimenting for a while. What is Alakija.com about? It's about presenting beautiful images of mundane things, or presenting beautifully the mundane. So I'm going back to my roots.
I dug through my archives and realised that I had a lot of stuff that I hadn't looked at in a while, I think that's because I didn't know how to present them when I last looked at them, but since then I've developed my post processing techniques a lot.
What do you think? It's not exactly Chromasia, but at least I can say that I've been inspired by his very good work.
I have another one I want to show tomorrow, if I get round to processing it properly I'll put it up.
Also I'm putting up some more of my friendly Nigerian shots just for fun, it is a beautiful country, I've just not concentrated on it's really lovely side like this.
Okay fellow Niaja's talk, say something to represent our lovely nation.
Post processing: H/S adjustments, 3 sunset gradient on the sky, contrast adjustments in Lab mode.
Best beach shot I've seen in ages: colour, composition, lighting - all marvellous. Also the two girls appear to be demonstrating how to dive in when a wave approaches. Great stuff.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Colin, you've officially joined the Shutterchance police with Suby and Skee, I'm always happy when you're all pleased.
Wow that's such a lovely shot - what beautiful colours and perfect crisp shadows with an amazing amount of emotion and expression.A perfect capture - extremely impressive.GREAT SHOT!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Neil. Hope you're enjoying your blogging on Shutterchance.

Very warm, very nice shot. Maybe a little less sky, and a little more beach. 1/3, 2/3's maybe. Watch the horizon, I always get it crooked, and then forget to straighten it, till somebody points it out. You got this on dead on....looks good.
Jide Alakija: You know you are right about the horizon, somehow I couldn't get to shoot all my beach shots straight. I wonder why!.
greetings!
this is a wonderful shot ... love the colour of it - so warm & summery, makes me wanna go jump in the sea ... the combination of the dancers & the one in the sea makes it a great composition
