about

I'm away on another international assignment for the next couple of weeks. It's funny that I say that now considering the fact that I haven't updated this photoblog in such a while.

Whilst I'm here I'll try and post some interesting photos.

This isreally nice...great composition. That's one thing that's unique with your shots...I haven't got composition panned down. Hopefully I will soon.
Jide Alakija: Thx Ada, study the works of Henri Cartier-Bresson and you'll learn a lot on composition.

I have to be honest.. I'm noticing this theme with arches in this posting and the one before and they both feel, IMHO, unreal. For example, how does one do a wedding at night outside in the winter in what looks like the coliseum. In this picture everything looks to unreal. Arches can be a symbol of grandeur.. they can be be used as a symbol of condescension. My interpretation.
Jide Alakija: Thx Toks
fabulous shot Jide.

Wow, this is a breathtaking shot. I keep staring at it, trying to take it all in. The composition, the lighting, the contrasting red coat...simply stunning. Where was this taken?
Jide Alakija: Thx Mo, taken in Cantebury Cathedral

Excellent composition which really puts the scale in context.
I love this shot Mr Alakija but i dont like the fact that the wooden frame in the foreground toward my right takes too much of the viewers attention. I would have chosen either the lady in red or the inner court as my main subject. Just an opinion, what do you think? (I see you have the smily shMood, is my critic escused?)
a lotta folks sound like they have a photography text book by them when they shoot.sometimes you just gotta click away, that happens to me and i love what i get in the end, afterall it is what you see that you click at - not speaking for mr Alakija though, just my opinion too.I love the composition pieces.
