about

I took some time out today to catch some shots of the horrible or nice snow we've had in the last couple of days. I haven't much experience photographing so I decided I'd use this as an opportunity to try out something new and different in terms of composition and concepts. For this one I really love the colour and contrast on the branches.

This shot was toned using the Selective colour tool in Photoshop.

Today's tip: When shooting an object always make sure the light is on the main part of the subject e.g. Face of a person. So many pictures I see have the light on the forehead (which has been produces by a light bulb in the room of shooting), the results normally tend to be very unattractive.

In the meantime you can ask me questions about this shot or other things that might be on your mind.

okay, it seems I'm the first. No questions, but I like the shot. and how you desaturated it. I actually have a similar posting today as per saturation. Plenty of stuff to do tomorrow, so don't worry about anymore comments from me. Have a good one.

Hi dude, again I marvel at how you capture the ordinary, taken foregranted, everyday stuff and turn them into the spectacular. I really like this shot. Thanks for the tip.
Jide Alakija: I think the answer to that lies deep within.....LOL...actually when I see the saw this particular image I didn't see as ordinary, I saw the lines, colours and concept. I only highlighted and emphasized them more in Post production.

It's not as ordinary as you think. I would say it's just hidden within the ordinary. There are loads of things hidden in the ordinary like this. Keep your eyes open.

it's simply but oddly attractive... the faded sky helps...
