A Delightful Korean Girl

As part of some idea which I am still developing I'm trying to understand the dynamics and physics of old photographs. I know that's a phrase that sounds like I'm trying to appear intelligent but not doing very well at it. I think the best way to put it is that I am very fascinated by old photos. Of course digitally trying to produce is rather pointless but as you know when it comes to digital photography it's the effect that counts.

This was also taken on the same afternoon as the previous shot and not too long after this other shot.

Ok no more photos for now, I think I will do some shooting over the weekend so hopefully I'll get some new work.

This is very nicely done. I love her outfit. Delightful is right.

I like the way the light brilliantly captures the colors of her Korean outfit...

signature post processing applied as usual. nicely put together shot
Thanks for the text.

I think it is very OK to create (certain) moods and styles digitally. In the darkroom people were also doing all kind of manipulations.

It's indeed not easy to identify what exactly makes an image look old.

To me this image still looks too new and modern. It is hard to tell but I can find some points why:
a/ the subject looks too sharp
b/ perhaps too many/good colors
c/ people in the background are dressed very modern (the clothes in the Frank and Jane image are more looking "old")

Please continue in your quest. Perhaps write down what an old photograph is too you. I would like to learn more about it.
