Divine strength #1

This was probably the toughest job I've ever done in all my experience as an events photographer. At this concert, I worked in very low light conditions without a flash, which was really challenging. Now I see why Skee has chosen this type of photography as his main area of expertise.

Of the 800 photos I took that night, I think I'm happy with only about 5% of them? That isn't to say that the others were bad, it's just that they weren't what I was after when I took them. Okay I'll be honest I'm just moaning - I took 800 lovely photos. Oh and I have another shot from this concert for tomorrow, even though I think I prefer this one.

I can see that the conditions were challenging. I can't explain why, but the large dark space makes this photo.

The large dark space and the hint at the crowd make this a very powerful picture. I am not a fan of the lights in the upper right corner, but other than that I very much a fan of this photo!
A great one !
We love shooting at concerts like these, lighting not to the benefit of the photographer, the challenge then is on smile We have doe quite a few of such events over the last month, will share some of these images when we can, think part of the challenge is also ensuring one does not convert everything to B&W but keep the colour in these images. Hard but exciting challenge.

This is a really powerful and perfect capture here, well done.

Now of to see how much we have in our kitty for those lenses that help us deliver shots in low light smile

I can actually see the worlds in the photograph....Divine strength
like the lighting and the composition
agree with kathryn about the lights in the upper right

also wish it was possible for the fogginess to have covered only the crowd (and not include the left side of the performer)
I like the raised fist. Before reading your description, I thought I was looking at some impassioned political speech - there is something about the energy of the performer that you captured really well.
