about

A shot from my most recent wedding.

Thanks guys for all the votes and messages you've been sending about my recent award. I can't believe I won 'Best Black Photoblog' at the Black Web Blog Awards. I too was surprised when I saw the results of the votes.

In the meantime, I still don't know what to call this one!

Its so sweet and simple. I love it.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Karen
lovely shot, I like the tilt. I find myself enjoying tilts in images for weddings especially. But why were you at 1600? It seems to me you could have achieved similar results at a much lower ISO. Don't get me wrong, this looks picture perfect, I am just very curious.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Dotun. I'm going to call you the Camera Professor from now on because you do, do your "research". Yes you are right in some respects, I could have achieved a "similar" result. However two things that you need to consider here. (1) It's a portrait so I do want some noise in the shot to help the skin presentation (right the secret it out), (2) it's an event and because the EOS 5D handles noise very well at ISO1600 I keep it at that so I don't need to keep changing it as the conditions change, something less to worry about.
Congrats again Jide, hope this keeps you blogging smile
Jide Alakija: difficult these days as I am really busy with all sorts.
Love the colours but not feeling the tilt and the photoshopping.

It is however such a lovely capture!
Jide Alakija: Again a personal style. Thanks.

Very nice. The "whiteness" of her dress seems to make her pop out of the page. Congrats again on your award smile
Jide Alakija: Thanks Suru.
Great capture. Love the tilted angle of the camera, and also how you shot it from halfway behind something that adds some interest to the shot. Good job.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Josef
