Capture the moment

Putting together some more images from weddings I've covered in the past into a portfolio and I felt I just had to point out the style of wedding photography known as Wedding Photojournalism otherwise known as 'Reportage'. Basically the photographer covers the wedding as an inconspicous guest, looking for the best angles to produce the best images that best convey the best moments of the best day.

I try as much as possible NOT to do any posed work during the ceremony though a lot of the guests give me a lot of stick for purposefully ignoring them. This happens a lot in African weddings. I think it's important that if you are considering this style of photography in your approach that you mention to your client your style and how it works.

Absolutely I could agrree more...A lady was cursing me for ignoring her last Saturday I had to reminder her that this is a Wedding no a PORTRAIT SESSION.....heehee....lol
Jide Alakija: I really like your response...I think I'll use it too. What you doing on Saturday 15th?
excellent photojournalism, the blown whites on the dress don't bother me that much.
Jide Alakija: Darn! they weren't blown before I processed them...thanks.
Like it, something quite different about the processing. Doesn't look typical Alakija
Lol @ Yinks for knowing the latest trend in wedding dresses. Jide I think that a more interesting way to shoot a wedding. I can't imagine going through my album and seeing only posed pics.

Jide your work is really good keep it up !!!
I so agree with you about the style of photography. I love the idea of a professional photographer just `blending in` and taking excellent, natural shots. They say so much more about the occasion than the dreadful, staged, `typical` wedding photographs. This photograph is beautiful. (:o)

This is why I LOVE ur wedding pics and also why I come on shutter chance to see ur pics in general EVERYDAY smile! I hate wedding pics where everyone in the shot is cheesing and waiting for the picture to be taken. I think you have a remarkable eye for photography.

Oh, I agree! I've been at weddings where I don't even remember seeing the photographer and the resulting photos always capture the spirit of the day much more effectively.
This photo visually describes a bridesmaid's duties, her facial expression says it all. Wonderful!
I love the attentive bridesmaid in this. After all, that is their job!

Excellent capture... It really captures the moment and the hustle of a chief bridesmaid/maid of honor.
