about

This shot may not be to the liking of many but I'm trying out a new tecnique in Duotone conversion.

For those that don't know a Duotone image is one with two colour tones. In this image the two colours are sepia and blue.

I quite like teh fact taht I've managed to retain the high tonal range using the duotone technique. Using a single tone would have made the whiter parts flat otherwise.

You have captured the action- love the colouring
Jide Alakija: Thanks Gale.
This one of my favourite shots of yours Jide. I love the tones, and the action, and that cape flying. Brilliant mate. What is Duotone?
Jide Alakija: Thanks Chris. Duotone is the term used to describe an image with two seperate colour tones.

This ones quite bueatiful i think and gives me my own idea as i myself am an amature photographer....hoping to work the carnival. Anyways i like the quality of the shadows on the ground and the different grades of colour on the outfits. This is definatly going into my favoritates file. Can i ask those as im quite new and basic. Why use an ISO 100 instead of a standed 400 or 200 or other would other films give a different effect. And if you had chosen to photograph a more colourful display as you have with carnival would the ISO 100 still work well with these colour?
Hmm...It may just be me but this one comes off more as busy but not layered.

They all seem to be right on top of each other. Not enough separation between them to create a pattern and of course the whites seem to bleed into each other.
