Naija we hail thee

Okay I'm trying to move away from portraiture type images and unto the more mundane. I recently looked back at where I started and I really miss doing that kind of stuff. As I said in an earlier post the commercial side of my work has really colonised my blog of recent. I've almost forgotten how to take any other kind of shot.

This was something I dug up in the archive, taken at an event. The Nigerians or those with strong affiliates to the so called heart of Africa will like this. I'd like to put it towards our more glorious times. This is a shirt design and manufactured by Nike for the merchandising of the Nigerian football team, yup when we had a football team that you could rank as one of the best in the world. It kind of symbolises the current state of the country, "Loads of potential, but very little result".

I thought it was a good find at the time. The work done here was subtle, I only did a bit of my usual exposure correction (using a few masked curves) and some colour correction (using the selective colour and Hue/saturation tool) too.

I love this shot, it pops out to you, lovely framed as well, we need to sit down and let me watch how you edit these type of shots, always very interesting to know how fellow photographers go about it :d

Awesome photo. Very political, at least after reading your comments. Nice. I added your blog to my list of photoblogs on http://fotografiker.se . Keep it up!
