about

I'm not completely happy with this one, I was under a bit of pressure when it was taken so I don't think I got his best side. Anyhow this is a shot from the big shoot I exhausted myself over on Saturday morning.

Feeling  a bit better but still not there yet. Thanks for all the lovely comments.

Hey Jide, I think it is a great shot.

Both yesterdays and todays have a very familiar stamp to them, these two images could only have been produced by one man! Very very lovely portrait. mal
Nice one Jide..
Nice work. Judging by the shadow at the base of the neck, the visor seem to be offering sufficient shade yet the model’s contracted pupil suggest strong light. Tell us what you did.

Don't keep us in the dark.
Jide Alakija: You're such a good and very technical photographer. This is the best way to produce a good image, especially when you're working backwards to understand what has been done. I'm the same too.

Now this one, nothing really special, you missed one obvious thing in undertstanding strong light sources. Use the catch lights in the eyes, the hint is always there. In my case the strong light source is below the neck in the form of a reflector. wink

Yes this an yesterdays could only have been taken by one man :d

I have to agree with you though, looking at this I keep thinking "is this the best angle he could capture?" Is that a birth mark on his cheek?

It is a slightly creepy but then ciool shot with that eye starinbg sharply at you, it sells the image 100% but I keep wondering, is there a better shot of him?

Suby
Jide Alakija: I doubt you'd be able to know anything about the best angle..you haven't seen him in 3D yet wink
I like the eye starting out from under the brim. It is a strong portrait. If anything I'd tone down the lighter color on his lip and chin a bit. It is a little distracting to me. Of course I don't know who this is or wht the marks are for. Perhaps removing them would negate the whole point of taking this shot smile

Excellent portrait. Awesome lighting
I like the angle a lot, but the PP on the left eye is very obvious. It seem like there was a little bit of left eye showing and you wanted to make it disappear. It disappeared quite alright but now the skin textures around the eye and his skin close to the eye does not match. Hope you feel better.
Jide Alakija: Really funny you should say that Dotun because I didn't do anything to the left eye! It must be a coincidence.
uhmmm..interesting but there is some kind of overlapping texture on that eye, now I wonder.
Jide Alakija: I wonder too....hmmmm.
Really cool shot. I wonder about the smudge on his lower lip and chin though. Are those the byproducts of extensive processing or is he perhaps wearing the same shade of lipstick and brown powder? smile

Fine boy though!
Jide Alakija: I wonder! It must have been a sunny day. Actually I can't see the smudge you talk about, it must be the lighting on the day.

As others mentioned there is the sort of odd light on his lip and chin, but other than that I like this.

I hope you are back to 100% real soon..feel better!
I think that the lighting on his face is absolutely beautiful. Well done, Jide.

Up there with some of your best in my opinion. You didn't control the lighting as well as you could have (relector to help with the neck shadow, etc)but i forgive you that since i love the composition so much. I don't know what it is but its just a 'cool' shot.
