Carnival 2006 #16: Elegance

This shot was originally supposed to have been uploaded for yesterday and yesterdays for today, but for some reason I had a problem when I uploaded it and couldn't post if for yesterday. Anyway I've managed to get it to work for today so that's cool.

This is a shot I'm not too happy with. I personally think there's too much going on in the background that it kind of subdues the elegance of the main subject.

You know I think this is the first time I haven't agreed with you. I don't think this is too busy and the background makes the whole shot work. We know it's carnival and there should be other things going on.

Who cares or sees the background with such a character in full focus, for me the background is just perfect. As I always say, if you don't have all positeves to say about the shot delling it to us your veiwers SHUT-UP, When and if the image does not make us happy, rest assured we will let you know.

As for this, IT MAKES ME HAPPY smile

Very strong shot. Excellent use of light - The subject really stands out against the busy background. Everything else aside, I really like that despite the burns (at least I think they are burn marks), he looks so bold and undaunted.
oi, leave the criticsing to us...
better than the previous shots because long with the likable muted tones u have an extremely striking model...
Despite the fact that this person scares the heck out of me, I think it is an excellant photo. I do not think the backgroud subdues that character one bit.

I don't know if I agree with you, the faces in the background look as if they're whitened, some sort of masque, makes the whole thing slightly macabre really. What a pity to have so many scars, and to be so brave as to show them like that. Not many would ... I know it's probably the wrong thing to say sad
Dude your subject is fine, awesome must say, she stands out i guess be'cos of the scares on her tummie. But i like much, i think i'd have presented her in a different way though..... she looks like a dude! tee hee
Maybe it's one heck of a tatoo...and not burns.
Definitely scars!!!
