B/W wedding moments #5

This is another shot following the first shot in the series. Here her brother is walking into the chapel. This is also one of my favourites from last year. I think the way that this is processed gives away a feeling of peaceful sorrow. "Our sister is leaving us, we'll miss her". What do you think?

Technically, it looks like I used a ND Grad flter for this one but I did it all in Photoshop, it took me sometime to get the tones looking like this. The composition could be better but that's wedding photojournalism for you. Enjoy.

Tickets on sale here

My very good friend BolanleDinah has been working very hard on an Art exhibition for charity. She approached me to contribute some of my works for auction along with some other artists. The title of the exhibition is "Words are not enough" and you can see more details of it here. I strongly urge you all to come as you'll not only get a chance to see good work in 3D but also a chance to give to charity. Tickets are on sale on the website through the "buy now" link at the top.

The processing work is fantastic but the mood you've created is just too morbid... the overcast sky suggests heavy storms ahead... It's all at odds with the usual feelings one would expect to have about a wedding. Not working for me at all i'm afraid :-(
Jide Alakija: Very subjective....Thanks.
I like the shot but I agree with Peter, its doesnt really go with the cheery mood a wedding should have smile
Jide Alakija: I don't think a cherry mood was what I was going for so I guess it works for what I've described in my description. Thanks Foofie.

Nice shot Jide...but just curious what are they looking for on the floor/grass??Or was that the pose you were working with??
Jide Alakija: Thanks. Firstly this was not a pose, it's very difficult to predict a shot in this situation. When I looked at this shot during the time of processing I thought of what mood I wanted to convey with it. As for what they are doing, I suspect that as they were walking in the bride is lifting her dress so that her brother doesn't step on it, maybe she also told him to watch his step. This is my suspicion.

Lovely, I really appreciate the whole concept.
I like all the white flowing fabric of the clothing and you did an excellent job on the image considering you didn't blow out all those whites. Really remarkable tones in this one.
