Poverty rest

Okay I have managed to post something for today but very late. The reason for this is because the internet contract my father has with his ISP is such that you only have the internet within a set period of time, his being in the evening. You cannot connect any other time. So as a result I'm posting very late.

This is a shot I'm posting more for a message of how poverty is rampant in Nigeria. This was taken on the same day as yesterdays shot. This is a lady resting in her home under the flyer-over between two main islands in Lagos, Ikoyi and Victoria Island.

Your thoughts on this.

I love the fact that the bicycle is clearly moving as she stays perfectly still. You can tell she's resting without the title. Good work.
I agree with Jon. I also like it how you are out there taking pictures of others, while others are out there taking pictures of you... BTW, when you talk about rampant, do you have numbers? And how poor is a poor over there? I thought it would be interesting to know.
Eh yah....GREAT compostion!!!

After staring at this for a while and trying to come up with something poetic to say, the only thing that came to mind was..."It is in colour, why?" Not that i have a problem with colour but it almost lightens the mood of the situation, except that was your intent...

Hi Jide. Merry Xmas. Pls don't tell me you are out and about in LAGOS with a 5D and a white thingy attached. Very brave. But please do enjoy the photographic experience. I am so loving your recent takes from Lagos. It brings memories and moreover pity, anger and a whole plethora of emotions to me and I am sure also to those who are familiar with the images that are coming forth.

Very well done again sir!
Mr. Ibitoye sir, hanging out on the streets of lagos, AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME, you're gonna be treated like any other photographer with people wanting to take a shot even if they'll never see the pic. WRONG TIME, WRONG PLACE, you're on your own! it's like any where else in the world.... Lagos my dear sir, is not THAT bad.
Happy holidays

We should not ignore the weak and the poor. Thank you for taking note and giving a true picture of our diverse and sometimes painful country.
