It's been a while since I did a shot like this. The last time I did this it was in monochrome. Since that was the case I thought I'd do one in colour. What do you think?
You can tell that I'm archive raiding again, haven't had the opportunity to go out and get new material.
Oh for those of you interested, I used my 580 speedlite fired in the direction of a white A4 (letter) sized magazine, you can see the reflection in the specs of the light on the magazine.
Very surreal image, was wondering what the reflection in her glasses was, me feel I would have preferred if you had removed it, but then again me may be wrong
Liking the shot a lot, sweet bro. Stop moaning about archive raiding, not as if it is a bad thing.
nicely captured. It feels a bit unbalanced though - i know it is conventional but it might have been better to have her looking into the large expanse of darkness
I love the model's strait-laced expression.. so on point... and needless to say the juicy pouty lips are to die for! This would qualify as a superb fashion shot - advertising sunglasses or lipstick or lip gloss. Great job!
great shot...!
the black really adds to the image,
great use of the magazine too..!
well i would have liked to see the face aligned to the right of the frame and not the left though,u know...that way the empty space would lead up to the face....but great shot nonetheless..
interesting - i like that her eyes are engaging and i always like the blacked out background - quite neat!!!

Inspired work as always, Jide - not feeling that violent shade of fuschia gloss though... not flattering to any skin tone under the sun..that doesn't detract from the fact that you're clearly extremely facile at portraiture though...
