Peace in the mist of the chaos

I give up, I cannot NOT post an image of a person, I think I'm a bit more inspired by people photos or that's just because I have a lot in my archive. I'm going to look for another none people shot to post tomorrow, please bear with me.

This is one from a wedding that I really had loads of fun with. I didn't get the best posed shots though but I think I got the best candids ever. This shot was taken just as the bride was walking tin the church, there were so many people around her that I had to look for a platform to take this shot, as a result my trademark composition came about, the portrait from the top. Anyway here's one of the few candids I've processed from a really good wedding.

Streetphone is back but with a twist this time. I've decided not to use my camera phone anylonger as I'm having problems getting it to connect to my laptop. It's now my Black and White Street photography blog. Check it out

Lovely, you were distracting the bride!! smile
Jide Alakija: Yup you say that.
Awesome portrait!
Jide Alakija: Thanks
wow jide,

this is really sick. i love the effects and the pping on this shot. the processing gives it a really delicate, gentle feel. i also love the way the bride is looking at you through a sideways glance. very nice.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Nicole, it's even better on a larger screen

sorry my bros i disagree with ppl here bit too white, and whats that glow underneath her chin
Jide Alakija: Sorry dude...I guess we have very different tastes, I think once you see the larger version you'd appreciate it. Also I think I should have posted the original too to really appreciate the camera man's camera at the bottom of the shot.

I know how it goes Jide. I dipped my toe in the people shot pool and rushed quickly back to my landscapes. I'll try to take regular dips until I get used to it though, thereby widening my field of expertise.

Not that I'm actually expert in anything at the moment - just more competent in some areas than others.

For this shot, I'm closer to atunbi's camp than the others. I like the softness up to a point, but I think I'd prefer just a fraction more contrast on the beautiful lady's features.
Good morning Jide, greetings from South Africa. This shot works beautifully, the soft focus is lovely. Regards, Neil.

Jide man, I like what you have done in this shot, it is unique and different and that I like, not your typical wedding shot, I like the fact that the eyes are looking at the camera, having been to some lovely wedding sites over the last few weeks, this ranks amongst those unique images one see. Good work.

Funny thing is I have a sorta similar shot of this bride I edited, but gone the other way, me gone over to the dark side, maybe I will post up sometime soon smile

You are correct for a wedding I think we got the most amazing candids.

This is glorious, such a beautiful high key portrait!!

Why do you worry so about posting nonpeople shots. Go with what you excell at. We always do better that which we love.
