Staring Pink

I know I promised some skaters today, however I wasn't happy with the results I got. I'll have to spend sometime tomorrow reprocessing them to get the shot I was after. In the meantime I've posted a shot from the archive. I thought since I did a portrait of Suby yesterday I'd follow up with another creative one I did of this young lady.

Update: Okay it looks like I did do too much with this one and now I'm feeling like I need to justify myself by putting up what I should have put up in the first place. Here is the mono version I actually was intendind.

Solid shot. I see you seem to have stepped up your game a little. I like the colour and use of dof. I think it could have had more pop if you opened up the lens a little. Still like it though!

Very vivid colours, great expression on the models face and the selective blur draws the eye into her face nicely. Well done.

not sure i like it very much. dnt know much about pphotography...but the blur clear ratio seems somewat out of proportion...
xx
Jide Alakija: You know what. I know what you mean and I think that's because I did the blur like that in monochrome and it worked then but I decided to post the colour version and I think the tonal info has kinda changed the effect I was after.

So sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. Your dedication to photoblogging is amazing. If I as much as break a nail, I won't write for days. Being partially blind for even a short while must have been really scary for you. I'm glad you're better and will be praying for you. Take care of you and don't argue with Tosin if she appears to be babying you. Just sit back and enjoy iy.

I am with rooks on this one. Not one of ya best. Plus at the top of the image to the left hmmmmm. JIDE OOOOOOOOOOOO.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Man! As I said, it worked really well in mono, as I look at it on the screen this morning I wish I posted the mono version instead.

Where you have you been?

Wow, that's a colorful gal!! Great capture of those stunning eyes.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Micki. Though I'm too happy with it so I've put up a different version now.
I love the colours but am not to keen on the blur.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Craig. I've put up a different version.
I don't mind the blur. Its a wild pic well done. Was there much lab work?
Jide Alakija: Thanks Danial. Not much Lab work apart from the painting of the blur on the hair and background. You can see the other version now.
I'll go with the other view on the blur - it looks too processed and unnatural to me. I think this would have been a much better portrait without it - the hair, eyes and make-up are vivid enough for me.
Jide Alakija: I've put up a different version now. I too am not happy with this version. Thanks for the comment.

Hi Jide,
I think you overdid the blur for this version. When I first looked at it, I felt a bit dizzy because of the blur effect.
Jide Alakija: Oh well...I've put up a mono version which I think is a lot better.

Thanks.

Ok the mono version is better but her makeup reminds me of some sort of doll like the "Bratz" dolls or something. To each his own.
