Deda #1

This is the first in the series of shots I took today for Zingara, Tosin fashion label. This jacket I believe is made of Aso-Oke fabric and Tosin made it for the model in this shot, Deda. Atunbi and I worked really hard on this shoot and we all had fun doing it. Technically this is not a very good shot as I didn't pay much attention to my focus and when I uploaded it unto the computer I realised that it was a tad bit out of focus. Anyway I still liked the shot so I softened it a tad bit to remove the attention from the fact that it's actually out of focus. Okay I can hear some people say I've spoiled the shot for them, sorry.

My day: Petra I like your idea about taking photographs of a tax consultants kids, thanks for that one. Sinem and Ari, I'll pop over to Great Yarmouth again to that beach where that shot was taken and do some more shots, I'm really happy you liked them. The shoot was my day and we are all exhausted, not much to talk about that.

Stupid boy Alakija man, I saw this shot and all I could think of awesome, then I started reading and it almost went down hill from there. Good thing the composition and the shot are absolutely awesome so no cR*P the Alakija puts up can put me off (next time please leave the critic to the Subster).

Anyway I absolutely love this shot, I am loving the colour of the jacket matching the colur of the shows and gravel on the floor, did I mention the composition is awesome. Lovely DOF. STONKING SHOT.

Next time STOP at "....we all had fun doing it" sad
Jide Alakija: Seems like I got too much of a reaction on that one. I'll leave the critism to you pros next time. wink

Atunbi's got some really good stuff from this shoot, I hope he puts them up too.

I really like this. I like how it is soft so you haven't ruined it for me.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ellen, really appreciate it. Don't get me wrong I love the shot and the softness, just thought I'd raise my hands up firt.
hey jide,

i really like a number of things about this shot. first, i love the angle...unique and draws the viewer's eyes closer into the subject. second, i really like the softness of the shot. i do not think that there is any problem with the focus on this shot...if anything, i think that it works to your advantage. third, i really like the contrast of the tree bark, the jacket and the white shirt. very nicely done.

Why can you not just shut up and keep the little bit of out of focus info to yourself?
Loving the softness applied here....8.25/10
cr=4/10 (trashing yourself is uncool)

for fashion phography - i think its weak. for a portrait - its great.
the focus isn't really on the jacket. and it should be? right?!
Jide Alakija: You are right it's more a portrait than a fashion shot. I haven't processed the fashion shot yet. I don't know if I would post it on my photoblog though.
