Fine, fine tuning

As promised the second shot. Today was a rather exhausting day as I was assisting Sarahlouise with a shoot for a magazing called "Rocker", the shoot went really well and I learnt a lot about the photography industry, I'm too tired to process the shots fromt the shoot so this will have to do for now

Anyway this is one from the archives from a party where I was the event photographer. Again I was a bit bored so I started looking around for the pseudo abstract things I could capture.

With this one I've tried a certain "retro" feel to it wich I believe suited what the image is about. I'll be very interested to know what you think about it and also please don't be shy to ask me any question concerning my images. I'm always happy to share. Honest!

On another note, where is Nicole? I'm so used to her comments being the first on my page.

Yay! I'm the first today!
Jide Alakija: Had to submit this quickly so as not to be beaten huh?
I think you captured the essence of Mr. DJ - deep in concentration getting ready to play the next track, the muted colours and the PP also give it a dreamlike quality. Nice shot.

P.S. must be seeing things but something about the person in the background reminds me of a picture of a lady you put up a while a go. can't remember her name, but i think it's Lacrecia/Lakeisha, or something).
Jide Alakija: My jaw is dropping....Morenike you impressed again.....amazing!
Nicoles not here yet so you'll have to settle for whoever can get in before her. I love the tones here. Did you achieve these silver tones with a filter (you don't have to tell)and what were using for light or was this with available light.
Jide Alakija: Of course I'll tell, why wouldn't I?

I used an off camera flash to light up the subject and I also selectively masked the background and reduced the luminosity. The shine was done using a glow actually.

Its the detail in the images. How do you get that men, Is it really as simple as shooting raw? Hmmmmmm.....
Jide Alakija: LOL...I used to ask that when I start photoblogging and look at some images I saw on other photoblogs. I think I'm able to capture such sharp detail because of two things.

1. I'm using a very good prime lens
2. I've light the subject up really well. I shot this using Manual as I was using the flash off camera.

Wow, I love the muted colours and the softness or is it a glo? Love it
Jide Alakija: Yup. It's a softness but it comes out as a glow on the shiny bits.

I like the kind of mirroring of the poses of the two guys. Nice glow on the processing too.
