Carnival 2006 #3 : The trolls

I put up a little tutorial in the forums this evening on how I recovered some of the shadow detail in this shot. I wasn't very successful in linking the images so you wouldn't be able to understand it yet. I'm sorting it out the the techy guys at the moment so please bear with me.

This is probably going to be the final shot in the series for now, I need to go out and get some new material. I have nothing to put up.

I have nothing to say about this one only put it up because I needed to put something I thought was worth putting up. Oh and also it's the same lady as the one from last year when I took this shot.

It's nice, looks rather symmetrical, with the ladies in pink around the central one...8/10
Jide Alakija: Thanks Samarth.
Great colours. The pinks just jump right off the screen!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Sparklite.

She's very pink and beautifully put together. There's nice side-lighting here too.

At first I was going to say that I thought instead of bringing out the detail in the shadows, you should have cropped a lot of the empty space at th bottom out.

Fortunately I held my tongue long enough to have a longer look and now I believe it's well proportioned into three distinct areas and there is even some (slightly) interesting white fleck detail there in the foreground.

The 5D is full frame, so 17mm means 17mm, which is very wide ad probably the cause of the vignetting, visible especially in the top corners. This is no bad thing in this case as it directs the eye inwards towards that gorgeous lady. Very nicely worked, Jide.
Jide Alakija: The 5D is an amazing camera well compared to what I've been using all this time. I've hardly had to process these shots!

This shot is much better than last year's I myust say. Nooooooooo! Last in the series? Oh Jide, keep your carnival shots coming - aesthetically awesome shots of aesthetically awesome women. What else could the human eye want?
Jide Alakija: You really want me to put up another one? Hmmm....I actually thought that you all were getting bored. I actually have another shot for tomorrow. Okay since you asked nicely. I'll put something a bit differet from the carnival.
Very nice, so colourful. like the sharpness too
Jide Alakija: Thanks. That's what 13MP can give you.

I had to laugh at the costumes on the women behind the main dancer, it looks like they drew the short straw. Love the socks...lol

This is a great shot, love the way the colors pop in this one.
Jide Alakija: Yeah...I'll put a shot of them closely tomorrow. Thanks Laurie.

Composition's nice and balanced but I do think this shot lacks a bit of soul, despite the fact that the subjects obviously didn't. Great shoes though smile
