Yellow bliss

This has been uploaded really late because I'm at the point where I don't have a lot of time to process shots to a particular standard. This is another one I caught on my walk with Tosin yesterday. I quite liked yesterdays shot for all it's weaknessas as pointed out by a few people. Today I've decided to put up something more to the standard of most photos. What do you think? I don't normally like taking photographs of flowers but this one was special in that Tosin's red clog provided the backdrop for this one. For me I think that's what made it different from my usual leafy backdrop.

On another note. I've started another photoblog on Shutterchance called the Street Phone Photoblog. In this one I have decided to put up shots of things I encounter on a daily basis. The images would not be anything artistic but take it as a daily journal into the life of a photographer. You'll see images that you would not normally see due to the limitations of carrying a huge DSLR. Wish me luck. Check it out.

I LOVE this shot, what great color combinations. Very dramatic, minimilistic. Excellent shot. Impressed!

Simple yet beautiful. I love the background!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Sidney.
hey jide,

this is a beautiful shot. i couldn't figure out what the background was until i read your commentary. i absolutely love the way the red makes the yellow petals stand out. it almost seems as though the flower is 3D in the picture.

Very nice flower...I like the framing, the colour and the entire "macro-ness" of the shot but i dont like the background being such a mix of weirdly coloured blur....but no more negative(mainly cuz of your ShMood wink ). I'll give it a 7/10....congrats on your new blog....
Jide Alakija: Thanks Samarth, you've given me something to work towards.

I like the contrast between the petals and the background...what exactly was it before? what did you do to it?
Jide Alakija: Before I put her clog in the way you could see the green from the grass and the blue from the sky.

It's ok for me (comparing to your own previous work) only a bit of clining bottom center. Like the lighting though.

I love the color of the background...most unusual for the shot. That caught my attention immediately.

This is a really great shot... an "ordinary dandilion" that looks very artistic and well composed.
I like the fact that there appears to be an absence of background. Makes the image stand out more in my mind.

Good shot Jide. The background elevates this from ordinary to extraordinary shot. One thing though which no one else has commented on - the small stalk at the bottom is an unnecessary distraction. YMMV, but I would prefer it if the stalk was either absent or more substantial (but without the bright bit at the end).

Hi Jide back to reality for me (post Hols), I have been trying to post for a couple of days but some glitch meant I could not do so, I like those images I have missed, very diverse selection, and all the better for it. I also like this, I have one I have yet to post, my son hates it so that should be reason enough to post....
