Beach splash #2

Very much inspired by DJN but not as good as his. This was a shot I took November 2004 along with the other Beach shots in my archive. Quite simply some young fellows playing in the tide.

Interesting or boring? I wonder what Suby and co have to say about this one.

I'll be the first to say boring.

I really dont feel anything with this shot Jide.
hey jide,

it doesn't jump out and grab the viewer, but that doesn't mean that its boring. i think that you have captured innocent fun, and therefore this picture has more of an element of serenity than excitement. i love the color of the sand, the foam of the sea, and the sky. well done.

Hmmm, preferred yesterday's shot. Perhaps because the silhouettes in yesterday's are much more varied, or it might have something to do with the extreme contrasting hues on both sides of yesterday's photograph.

IMHO: Jide can do (and has done) better. Much better!

Well I think that the colouring works well. Everything complements each other and none of the colours are fighting for supremacy. But the 'action' is a little dull tbh. It's hard to feel any real emotion other than simply wondering what they're going to do next.
Lovely capture, really facinating with people playing on the beach like this. The light is exceptionel well done!

What a beautiful and fun shot. I like the golden tones. Was this taken early or late in the day? Or is the tone a result of it being November?

I know where you guys are coming from, but isn't 'boring' a very subjective definition? Who am I to say this is boring? I may think it is, but Tom, Dick and Harry may not - so to speak - or vica versa.
This photo works for me, possibly a little less than yesterday's as I feel something in the composition is lacking, isn't as powerful as the positioning of the girls in yesterday's shot.

Funny thing is I Love the shot (Red shhs mode always gets more comments from me).
The PPing is different from yesterdays (an absolutely divine shot as well) not as soft, but this one it on top there as well, I really like the way it almost looks 3 dimentional, look at the way the waves splashing on the 2 chaps looks as if it is going to jump out of the screen to hit me. Maybe it's the sunset glistering accross the waves and sands that gives it so much depth and detail. One other thing that i feel has been done very well in this shot are the focus points, the guys splashing, the guy watching, the sandy beachm the waves, the horizon, all come toghethr to make this a complete shot (good job using f9 tongue)

Boring shot? HELL NO. That tag is generally only to be used very sparingly as truth be told, ONLY EXTREMELY rare images could be deemed as boring, and don''t forget people, it's all SUBJECTIVE.

All in all I really love this shot, I definitely know the Alakija man deserves a coveted "I Likey" from the Subster.

NEVER TRY TO second guess the Subster folks, I ALWAYS say what I see or feel about a shot. It is after all a free world tongue

For your beach shots so far, i'm not really digging your angles, these are more or less holiday snaps, i'm sure you would take them alot better now with the amount of experience you have aquired smile

Post processing aside... I wouldn't say boring, but that word had crossed my mind smile

This just goes to show how much your work has improved! Keep it up!

Well I like it. The colour and clarity are great and the composition too, except that you need separation between the two figures in the surf.

The lighting is warm and magical; and I love the water with the splashing ripples, the waves rolling in, and the sun dancing on the surface in the background. And finally, the wet sand pattered so nicely with the receding water made a lovely soft reflection of the bystander. It is a perfect image!
