I don't know if this shot is complete as I quickly did this last weekend after a party. I have a colour version but thought this was stronger. I would have put a link to it but I didn't intend on posting it till I got back from Lagos. As I didn't put up enough shots whilst away this is one from the "Online Archives" (shutterchance users will know what I'm talking about).

I don't know what I like so much about her smile and cheesy look I think it's very much reflective of her personality, honestly!!! I'll leave her to make the comments on this one.

Oh and yeah I've put a Yellow Shmood as I always do for my portraits. Please don't be overly critical as you are making comments about a picture I've taken of someone not really prepare (This photo was taken in a party!!! not a studio). Also to make her head swell a bit, this was a very eash shot to process as she's naturally beautiful, very little touch ups were made to this shot.

that's amazing - very powerful and striking, and you reright, she is really beautiful, that beauty shines through her eyes, and you captured it fabulously well in this very minimalistic way

The only thing I am not crazy about is that it looks like a floating mask to me. I think there is too much shadow. The lighting on the left side is just lovely and she has very lovely features, but the complete lack of detail on the right bothers me a bit.

Someone is probably extremely excited by this post smile. Nice work Jide, something quite "ghostly" about the photo.

Made me laugh as soon as I saw it, both for the expression and the floating mask type effect. Well done, I think you've accomplished what you wanted.

Very good shot. Not in a studio??? Incredible. The lighting was not too harsh and agree a black and white version is the best for this shot. Love the twinkle in her eyes. cheers man.
lovely shot!and brilliant DOF!!!

I'm finding this shot a little unsettling although it is wonderfully conceived and technically spot on. Think it's what people are describing as the 'floating mask' feel about it. The right eye (or left as you look at) looks a little strange and the prominence of the edge of the face due to the lighting is giving it adding to the strange appearance. I think that it's the angle of the face that could be easier on my eye if it were a couple of degrees more to the front. This would give more detail to the eye and give the cheekbone and the smile a smidgen more room.

I do like the composition on the left hand side of the frame as this conjurs up the mischevious side that I assume matches her smile. wink
