Alone in the rain

On the day of the dreaded Olympians game when it rained heavily along with this shot, I had the opportunity of watching this young lad walk all the way from the stands unto the race track and stand. I think he really enjoyed himself just standing there. One thing for sure is that he managed to draw a lot of attention to himself from the crowd watching the game. Anyway I thought that this shot would suit the theme: Alone. What do you think?

On another note, Jamey Howard and I met up today at Brick lane and did some shooting. I think together we managed to get quite a few shots. I really had a good time and also had the opportunity of exploring a new side to photographing inanimate objects, something I've been very weak at on Alakija.com. I'm planning on posting a few over the next coming days.

What a great shot this is. I love the feel of this the sense of emptiness and abandon.

This easily fits the theme "alone." Nice image. I think the absence of color adds to the empty feeling of the shot.

Not a bad shot, and you've set a nice mood with the lighting and the mono conversion, but it appears that your shot is back-focused...

Actually, I like that back focus, and the way it empasises the beautiful curving lines. This is such a beautiful shot of aching isolation.

Jide, I'm back!! Your photo shows isolation, but not lonliness. i can see how brave the boy is eventhough he was alone. Love this shot! Perfect! I hope my PowerShot S2 could shoot this too =(

Shot Perfect
Framing Perfect
PP Perfect

A coveted "I Likey" comes your way from the Susbter
This little boy is maybe the picture of how the english people feels after being kicked out of the world cup?

Its a very good picture, by good I mean he is captured in a mood and most boys growing up in north of Europa can relate to: Dressed in rubber boots and and rain clothes you walk, jump and run in the water until its not funny anymore.

I think we soon need some pictures that reflect some more cherfull mood?

The crop is perfect and is this a sepia toning again? Nice

Have a nice weekend!

And you english people - be nice to Ronaldo!

Really like this Jide, lovely composition and framing. Sepia tones also work well.
great subject, but the vanished frame does not convince me...

This is the sweetest shot! Here I see a kid that isn't going to let anything in this world hold him back! He looks so tiny, lonely, and vulnerable out there, but to get there shows the spunk he has that probably keeps Mom on her toes all during his waking hours.

This is truely a lovely shot, I love the use of space, and it makes you think.. why is the kiddie there alone? Was he just running about loving the rain? Was he sent to the middle as a punnishment by his mum? Is he a little bounder who is standing there to be a defiant little b*gger? I Love it. My favourite of todays theme I've seen.

Wow. That's perfect for displaying 'Alone'. Nicely observed and processed.
That's a really desolate view... without the story behind it. :p i think you did well to ignore the rule of the thirds here - placing him smack in the centre strengthens the "lonely" mood.
