Peaceful Brown

Okay enough experiments, one more portrait for the Portrait lovers out there, Labinjo here is what I promised you. When I started working on this image I didn't think much of it until I got this far.

I needed to say your photographs are simply amazing. As I opened each picture in the archive, I was stunned again and again. I am not a professional of any sort but these pics deserve repeat awards. The pics taken in Lagos are simply brilliant. I havent been there in 10 years but the pics described it so vividly.
great work! nice look of the model and a very sensetive look! greets

Lovely tone.
Before I looked properly at this I did what I normally do, before passing my judgement: I looked at each shot of this nature in your photo archive:

This is a great way to see how any individual is progressing in his/ her jounery.

Jide, thiis shot so far to date, is one of your best portraits. Carefully analyzing the shot, the first thing is not to be carried away by the model's beauty but to focus on why this shot really works.

1. the Composition is spot on. I'm seeing a new level of maturity from you here smile

2. Your colour scheme, This effect works perfectly here.

Well done, fantastic capture... But! please work on the titles of your pics, "...Brown" noot on my screen, stop being lazy you can do better than that lol

Not sure how I feel about this one, Jide; seeing you have smiley face mode on, I think I'll keep my motuh shut. I do agree with Skee though, you can be a bit more creative with titles.
Jide Alakija: I don't have a Blue ShMood on. I have yellow. I put yellow on my portraits because that way I can control what people have to say regarding the subject, sometimes people forget that the subject is actually reading all the comments and can be harsh towards them.

Titles...I remember saying in the past that titling is not my strength so excuse me on that bit.

Yellow shhhsss, okay constructive critics only...... (thinking)...... none pop to mind... aahhhh, lovely pose.

Not feeling this one.

Sorry have to add this (know you will hate me for this) Me no Likey.
To add a little hate mail coming my way - Shot of the day? mE NOT THINK SO(and yes I know it is subjective and down to each individual viwers opinion smile ) Let the fun begin smile
Why did you go yellow on this one?
Jide Alakija: I don't hate you at all. You not liking it or liking it is only one comment out of many remember, very subjective. I tend to like things many people don't like doesn't mean it's good.

WHy Yellow? Why not? I could have choosen a different colour but yellow was what I started with, actually I was playing with some tones in the blue channel of my curves and ended up with this. I like it. grin

Tomorrow's image is for you mate! Hope you'll like it.

Jide you will probably hate me also, I have to agree with Suby, I like the processing and the overall feel, what lets it down for me is the pose, the arm looks disconnected, the idea is good it's just the shoulders postion. For me once I notice something like this that tends to be all I notice irrespective of how good the rest is. You have produced some super thought provoking portraits on here this is not one of them, sorry!
Jide Alakija: Sniff sniff! Oh well. Thanks for that Shooter, I'll see what I can conjour up next time.
Excellent shade of brown. Your concept of light and exposure is superb.
great soft feel about this image!

Okay, constructively speaking, I do not like the pose - I know it was not you posing, but you are the photographer, you should get your subjects to pose the way you want them too - unless this was the way you wanted her to pose then whoops. From a woman's perspective, the way her arm is positioned is not flattering. The portrait would have been a lot more striking and powerful if she was looking directly at the camera. And the colours do fall short of Alakija-style richness, she almost about blend into the background, dude! Constructive enough? smile
Jide Alakija: Interesting thoughts on the portrait and thanks for them. Though I don't agree with some of them. I wouldn't have the eyes open because it would spoil the mood I was trying to portray and cause an imbalance of focus. I actually wanted the pose. The blending with the background too was also what I wanted too.

I think this is just a matter of preference. I like everything of this shot. Thanks Sinem.

I'm sure there is a shot of Nina Simone like this?
Jide Alakija: Is there? I'm on the hunt. I'd like to see their own interpretation.
Beautiful soft glow, nice portrait!

beautiful portrait, beautiful lady....I love the colours and the "mood".
I think if the background was one or two shade's darker there would be more difference with the skincolour and it would make the photo more interesting. (just my thoughts...smile)
Very pleasing, nice shot!
This image just blows me away. It is just PERFECT on every level!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Diane, coming from you I'm really really flattered!
