Cafe Candid #4

I think this was the best of the lot, what do you think? I was going to stop here but I promised James that I'll put up one more with the subject walking in the opposite direction after that I'll stop and not bore you with more.

Definitely the best of the Cafe Candid shots. Really loving this one.
But, would have liked it even more if both women were in focus.
Jide Alakija: That's what I thought when I took it but then when I had another look I actually liked the fact that the first lady was not in focus as she was a distraction hence the processing on her was to make her rather darker. I think it worked. Thanks.
wow... the woman in white looks like a ghost, especially with the dark background. great shot.

I really like this one. From the depth to the richness of the colors this one is very good. Comp is right on the money and the lighting couldn't be better. Great work!

This is a cracker of a shot Jide, the tones are beautiful, it almost has a old master feel to it, I love the subdued colours, quite lovely. PP as always is excellent.

You know what, I really dislike this Alakija man, I have been trying for ages to get a shot of a "covered" woman like this in ages. I have been expecially trying to get a "white" & not a "black" covered one with no success..(there are ot many of these in Milton Keynes).

What do he go and achieve, not only one of my dream shots, but a stonking shot at that.

As seems to be the consensus, my favourite from the bunch and I know why.

She is not looking in the direction of the camera, her expression as she is in conversation with her friend is perfect. I think that the background has been a tad over PP'd, i am normarly a dark image loving person but for me it does not really work here.

Apart from that slight niggle, I really love this shot. Dang you Alakija man smile

This is the best for me as well. She look etheral like a princess or a ghost. Love the fact you can see her face. Nice one.

nice catch, like the texture and the soft detail in this image. nice on the angle, providing a profound figures on the profiles of the subject. at first, i thought they were walking on the way to the altar or something, then i saw that this was a subject for cafe candid. nice one.
great profile - the detail and lighting is spot on! cheers smile
The lighting on her face and in the folds of her clothes is just sublime.

Absolutely fantastic Jide,
Surprisingfly the oyther person adds more to the shot instead of distracting : thats very interesting.
Loving the HDR thingy you have done here,
Smooth curves also make it m,ore appealing.
Jide Alakija: This is not HDR, I just increased the exposure and blended that new exposure with the original layer. Thanks Azhar.

i dont like this one...sorry sad
looks out of focus(ot that i know what im talking about)
its hard to appreciate the non tech aspects cos im distracted by the fact that its out of focus or something???
Jide Alakija: The lady out of focus is deliberate. This is to put the focus on the other lady. Had I put the foreground lady in focus the two would be competing for attention and that wasn't my intention.

Thanks for the comment.
the white dress girl look like sculpture or statue...skin tone and hilight on fabric r fantasticsmile))

You know what? If only the veiled woman had been captured here this would have looked like a painting at the Louvre. The contrast of the background shades with the foreground makes this very painting-like and the classic face of the lady.

I shall try to dig up exactly which painting it evokes.
