Robin #1

Today was a really good day, I think it marked the end of a really good weekend. Tosin and I spent it mostly in the house chatting and laughing about about all sorts, went to this really nice Indian street restaurant which I think everyone should check out called "Masala Zone", I think it's the Tandoori's answer to Nando's. Finally we had a lovely service at church.

Just before dinner, we spent sometime with Lacrecia and Robin in a photographic studio, I took the opportunity to take some shots for my blog. Robin gladly allowed me post this one that you are seeing of her. If I get round to it, I'll post process the another shot from my time with them at the studio.

How was your weekend? Oh and the sun didn't dissappoint today, thank God, I wonder how long it will last.

Jide, this image is powerful.

The pose, the colors, the composition, the tatoo on her body speaks!

Jide, this is one of my most favorite shots in the recent weeks. Wonderful.
Jide Alakija: Thanks man! I really appreciate your comments on this one as I wasn't sure about the processing.

LUSH! Now that is some body artwork.
Lovely capture and processing.
BTW: I think you might have got your hyperlinks mixed up....
Jide Alakija: Thanks Deji, I checked the hyperlinks and I can't see any problems with them. What do you mean?

Great image! I especially love her pose. At first you would not necessarily expect the different colors and shapes of the tattoo, the earring and the clothes to work together so well, but they do. This photo really flows...

Wow ! Nice shot ! The tatoo looks amazing
Very nicely done, Jide. I think this is excellent. The color on her tat, her eye, and her earring is the same color. And it makes an otherwise good shot, just simply fantastic. This is one to be very, very proud of. I think you hit this one out of the park. Kind regards, Brent

Wow! wasn't expecting this. Very different from your usual stuff. Particularly like the tones and colours (especially the blues and the greens on her eyes, earrings and arms). Honestly, the tattoo looks like it's alive.

There's also something about Robin's pose- all curled up with her "wings" - almost like a sleeping angel. A tatoo's never looked so attractive. She could pass for a mythical creature of some sort. was that the effect you were going for?

Did i say i love the crop. All the detail that needs to be seen (and to create the otherworldly effect i'm totally loving) is in there. IMHO, anything else would have been a distraction.

Way to go, Jide! This is stuff i look forward to seeing on shutterchance.

i am dazed!! What an excellent shot!! the contrast between the very pretty and also very rough and defiantly looking woman and the vulnerable and sensitive atmospere of the photo is breathtaking.
Was this the result you had in mind? Did you tell her how to pose?
Are the matching colours a coinsidence?
The black parts are the best in my unimportant opinion, The hair, eyebrows, lashes, tattoo, underwear......the black makes the photo strong!! Bravo!!
one small detail....the skin at her temple a bit shiny, even though the rest of her skin is lovely mat.
Sorry if the text is incoprehensible. I have to translate the dutch words i want to write with a dictionary, and i am not sure if the words i wrote down are the right ones to express my thoughts..
Jide Alakija: I understand everything you've said and I'm inspired by your comments. I really appreciate them. Please don't stop. Also they are not unimportant at all.

Very nice. Did you do anything in post to soften this?
Jide Alakija: Thanks Jamey, Yes I did. If I remember correctly, I used a blurred adjustment layer to soften it.
Beautiful colours. I can’t tell whether or not it is a permanent Tattoo but it is a work of art and well captured by you. Skin colour seems a touch yellow though?
