Bad day at the office

This shot just describes the kind of day I've had and the Olympians too. This was the first home game of the season and it was a complete down pour. I couldn't stay for the entire game but at the time I was leaving they were down 6-20 and it didn't look like things were going to get better.

The weather didn't help either, there was just no hope for me and my 10D. Anyway I haven't had time to do some creative shooting so I'm kopping out and posting a shot from todays game. Again a monochrome shot. Please excuse me here i know this is getting boring, just having had time to explore newer channels yet.

Post processing:BW through Lab mode, Toning through colour balance, vignetting, curve adjustments
Crop:None

Wow! I love this picture. I love the look on his face, the intensity. I couldn't stop staring at it for the first couple of minutes!...

Um, could I ask what 'vignetting' is please?
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ayodeji. Check out this link for what "vignetting" means.

Love the stare!
Perfect tones, and love how the rest is blurry : vignetting works well.
GREAT GREAT SHOT!
Jide Alakija: I now count the number of "GREAT"s you put in your comments to see how much you like it. Thanks.

idleye says nice shot!
The others are all right in their comments and it is just a matter of where this image would work best - context is (almost) everything.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Idleye. Really appreciate your comments.

Cool shot! Nothing I would change in this picture. Everything's perfect for me including his stare (though I don't really know if he has already given up or just started to get furious).
And I agree with Deedee: The fun of your site is that I never know what you might put up next!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ella. I never really thought that the fact that I randomly put up something was a good thing. I thought consistency was what most people liked. That way you showed your content with a particular style. Most photobloggers I've seen have this going on...or am I wrong? Please correct me or what are your thoughts? Really interested to hear them.

This one is a great sport portrait. Nice composition too.
Monochrome works for me here and usually it kind of pisses me off. wink Really excellent and dramtic shot. His eyes locked with your camera; very effective! Beautifully blurred background. Great work. Cheers.
