Daisyland 2

Okay I'm going to attempt to post a portrait of various people who are very influencial in my photography over the time I've been shooting. This was the second shot I promised from Daisyland....and you can see Asiko in the background. Does this hint at great things to come from this fellow photoblogger? He's out now shooting again and with new gear and probably style, who knows we'll soon see.

....VEEERY nice. I love this bro!
Jide Alakija: Thanks Reza.
hmmmm... I'm finding the diagonal bar on the left side of this pic abit distracting!
Jide Alakija: Apart from a very constructive comment someone noticed my main concern with this image.
Great frame... Lovely use of DOF!
Michael
Jide Alakija: Thanks Michael

Not focusing on the main subject definitely works very well here! Like the casual and relaxing atmosphere.
The diagonal bar is not distracting for me, because I see it as a part of the picture. If it was gone you maybe had too much empty space to the left. Another possibility could have been to show only the net and have Asiko a little closer to it, so he would occupy more space in the frame.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ella.

I don't know if today is a bad day or what, I just don't seem to be diggin a lot of pictures today. This picture does not work for me, maybe because of the thick white bar that tries to frame the picture.
Jide Alakija: Eyah, well you can't get it right all the time can you. Thanks.
A great use of DOF the diagonal bar is a little distracting although I think if it was not there the picture would more represent incaceration than football.

The photo is quite ordinary, but what I really like about it is the relationship between your story and the image, that is, shooting; for goal or by camera? And "..with new gear.." - football strip or photo equipment?

By the way - is that sensor dust making the spot third square down on the left near the white bar?
I like the way youhave treated this shot by focussing on the goal net and keeping the person out of focus. Coincidently my post today also involves a football. Check it out at http://www.picturejockey.com/pblog/2006/5/manu_football_1.html

I love the idea, but I don't really like the white bar. Sure, if it wasn't there then the picture might feel empty, but it's just too.. Bright...
Sorry Jide not sure this works for me!!, technically I cant see anything wrong its just not my type of pic
Having a brazilian origin I will only admit liking this one if you admit that Brazil will win the cup this summer! wink
Lovely composition, nice sharp details on the fence and good dof.

trough the net

well done
I kind of like it. I like the desaturated feel; it gives the photo a very melancholy mood. It's very reflective. (you've got a small artifact near the pole that needs to be removed.) Cheers, Brent
