Today is Tosin's birthday. We went out to dinner today not for the birthday celebrations but believe it or not to get a shot and have a drink after it. We intended to catch the sunset before the drink but things didn't happen as planned. Anyway I saw this moment in the restaurant and thought it would be a good one to show off the lovely HDR that I keep ranting about.
You didn't know it was HDR did ya! Ha! Gotcha Mr Skee!!!
Anyway can I ask you all to wish Tosin a happy 25th Silver Jubilee of years.
Thanks.
Post Processing: 3 exposures, Correction of Levels, Gradients on left and right, bluring for focuing.
On another note, have you ever sent an eCard from my Blog before? Maybe now is a good time to. Use the image, send you feelings, emotions all that. Try it out!
Nice shot. Im loving this one. Interesting how the spotlight seems to cancel the light out. Digs a hole right through the darkness to reveal the flower.
Dont like the leaves tho. Would have liked to see the flower more isolated. More lonely.
I'M IMPRESSED! didn't know it was HDR and i definitely don't want to see the original. i really like the use of light here...but wats the floating blurb over the flower????
beautiful spot light in this shot...feel airy wt the empty space in wt dark background...making a great focal and draw my eyes to the vase...well done

Hi,
I like art, and what's more, your stuff. It's rare to see a black guy doing stuff like this, and also being very original and good at it. I think you could try to publicise yourself a bit more. So that we can see an exhibition of your work in Kensington!!! However, there was one thing that shocked me - the picture of the 3 kids (Ajegunle's 3 amigos). I'm not quite sure what that was meant to portray...(I'm only making comments because it seems you welcome them). I find it evokes negative emotions in me. There is something about the way the children are posing that I can't quite pick out - the arm behind the head and the hands on the knees...tell you what why not sell it to a charity for African children (oxfam?). Kiddin'! Oh well, I do have to say though, well done!
...and happy 25th Tosin. Have a glass of bubilee on your jubilee.

The orange tones are beautiful - once again, it's all about the colours for me. The use of light (and consequently shadow) is stunning: picture postcard perfect.
Beautiful shot and dramatic light! I think the flower needs the black space that surrounds it, but I'm still not sure about how much actually. I have tried cropping it to 16:9 in Photoshop which also looked nice in my opinion.
Having read Seyi's comment, I can't help but agree about cloning away the leaves on the left. The don't add anything to the photo - but rather take away from it.
On a different note,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TOSIN!

nice Pic..HDR looks to be doing magic as far as am concerned. Not like I know what it is or what it does. Happy Birthday Tosin.
Jide, I like the shot, very “candle in the wind”. Looks like one of those 'hallelujah' moments in movies where everything goes dark and spot light comes on a particular subject, as if to say 'eureka!’
See you guys on Sat? Tosin, if you don’t come with a bowl of rice, dodo and puff puff (with or without bday cake), don’t come at all!

Beautiful shot. Love the spotlight. It's like this beauty of nature has taken centrestage and is performing quite nicely. Fantastic pic.
Great capture, Jide. The light and background elements are very fine indeed. Lately you've been using negative space in a very effective way. It's nice to see images where there's a central point of focus. Regards, Brent
