Chief Drummer

Another very late image. I hadn't enough sleep over the last couple of days as I had a magazine interview very late on Friday night which lead me to get home at 2am, then got up for 5am to take Damilola, Tosin's younger sister to the airport. Lack of sleep, lead me to falling asleep at 8pm and not getting up till 3am. Naturally I missed a lot of appointments and calls, also not even processing and post the image for today.

Apologies. You can imagine, I've jumped out of bed and with no image to put up. So I've quickly processed this one here. Okay no I must retire....

Have a pleasant Sunday.

PP info tomorrow morning.

Nice capture, Alakija. I like the whitened out background. Very nice way to put emphasis on your subject. Regards, Brent

I think this my favourite of the drummer photographs I have seen yet. I love the composition. You can feel the african beats frozen in time (the drummers in the blurry background give that feel) and one cant help but wonder what the drummer in the foreground is looking/thinking.

The now famous drummer, yep tell us a little about him. As you have featured him a few times, you should send him some of the images. That is if you indeed know how to reach him. You got some very good images on the day. smile Like the composition on this, sweet DOF. Nice one bro.

Great composition, made even more powerful by your choice to let the background go almost - but not completely - bright. Very nice.
beautiful bw shot...i like the composiion and dof...i like the soft tone background here...great capturesmile
I wonder... if this had more grain to it... we might just have another "cartier-bresson" in the making... I have seen one of his that has almost the same features... the contrast... the DOF ... the only difference here is the grain.

Well done... definitely looking up to you.
Oh wow, great portrait!

Outstanding photograph. The man's face just tells its own story.
