Theme of the Week: Portraits of emotion Shot 7: Naija's next top model
Jide was too tied up on the phone to write this so I decided to do the caption today. Bear with me. The firs tthing that comes to mind is "the timid lion". In this day and age you still find that a lot of guys are quite self concious in front of the camera.
But I hope that you would agree with the fact that the "slyness" of this character is expressed by the slant in my friend eye. Ladies whatch out.
I dont know what else to say I am rubbish at writing!!

Excellent portrait, wouldn't be out of place in the pages of a Glossy fashion mag. Nice work - [Chuks]
ps: your comments form still does not accept my email address, could the hyphen have anything to do with this?
Jide Alakija: Hmmm...I've lodged this is an issue to the developers. Thanks.

well since i'm on a roll today i'll put my 2cents in again. At my first glance of dis pic i have to say i wasn't really feelin the essence of d pic. But on the second viewing i've come to realise appreciating art for wat it is and not wat u want it to be makes me c the bigger picture. I love the colour contrast (skin and sweater). There's sumthin mysterious about the pose like he knows sumthin/ a secret dat we havent been been let in on and he's smug bout it. Also luv the way half of his face is hidden but the eyes draw u in (or maybe i'm lookin at the pic too much). Lesson over. Fantastic work jide.
Jide Alakija: WOAH! That blew me. Thanks for such deep comments. Much appreciated.
Cool portrait, it's almost as if he's showing more of his personality by hiding some of his face like that.

The eyes are definitely saying something and the mouth behind the hands encourages you to come closer so he can whisper it to you. The red jumper against the blurred background helps thrust the subject in your face...me likey...
Jide, this would be a good idea for one of my shots!
You need talent or a good model to capture something like that!
Excellent !
