Joyous smile

Theme of the Week: Portraits of emotion

Shot 3:Joyous smile

What is a joyous smile? There are some faces you can't resist not taking a picture of. In this case this lady had something about her look that I couldn't really pick out everytime I saw her. I asked for a picture and she gladly obliged. When I started processing it, it just came out, the reason why I had to take the picture. She had that expression of JOY all over her face especially in her smile. Well I'm hoping that I've done a good job of it. What do you think?

Yo, love the model's look, she looks like she was having fun in the photo shot. The test of any true photographer is his ability to make his subjects feel relaxed. She sure does look like this was the case. Looks like it was a mischievous shoot smile Suby Likey.

Love the saturation. You definitely do have your signature smile
Suby
Jide Alakija: She does. It's one of the fun ones I've done. It wasn't too difficult to do either compared to the rest. Gosh! Suby you're surprisingly positive these days, what's going on?

Yes this does look like a fun shot but I don't like that her hair blends into darkness on the left. Would have liked to see some detail there.

I do like what you do in post though. Nice.
Jide Alakija: Sirry dude, I didn't play with the lighting. I actually don't like portraits the reveal all of the detail on the face. I think you can appreciate the bone structure with the shadows. You'll probably notice that I love shadows in my portraits. Thanks.

Yep, it's been a very hectic few weeks for me and decided to take it easy on you guys smile Naaaaaaa, when I see an image I like I say so, when it sucks, you had better watch out. Suby will let anyone have it.
Been a bad day, My Photoshop 7 just died on me so have had to step down to Adobe Elements, not enough power in the software.
Jide Alakija: Poor you, it's time to get an upgrade, you can get it on the cheap on the net. I always make copies of my software can't have them dying on me. Thanks.

hey! why did you remove the tint? I liked it!sad. This looks brill though. Just wondering noow how Tosin's picture would have looked with the tint
Jide Alakija: I took your point as a critism. So I changed only just for you Bola. What would you like to see next? I'm planning a very colourful theme next week. I hope you all like it.
Nice nice nice... did you do something to her teeth? It's white enough to be in a tooth paste commercial.
Jide Alakija: Errr....why should I tell you that?
We should all learn to smile like that !
It makes us more beautiful !
Lovely girl ! Great portrait!
Got her cell number ? ;-)
Jide Alakija: Sidney, you are beginning to purve about my blog easy now boy! wink

I'm actually happy with the lighting on the face.. it's the "fade to black" on the hair I was talking about. smile
Jide Alakija: I know that's what you were talking about. Oh well! Thanx anyway.

great vivid colour and such a crisp yet soft image- if that makes sense...you capture eyes so well! *she scribbles in her notebook*

Love the shot, but it does look a tad bright (blown). But could be my monitor. Really great model though.
Jide Alakija: Hmmm..maybe it is your screen. Check my other stuff to see if they are also bright too. Thanks.

This is the kind of photograph that makes one's day! Sorry, did I say 'day', it makes one's week indeed!
I do admire the fact that you can always tell a Jide Alakija photograph when you see one!
Jide Alakija: I didn't know I was developing a signature with my shots. I've been finding it hard to choose something that is really me. Still searching. Thanks Sinem.

she looks rlaxed and the smile does not seem coerced.colourful pic and good angle of shot
Alakija I find the picture and the girl just very beautiful. She looks to me like the face of joy with also a question mark in her face. But the reason for this comment is the drop in skin softness below the necklace, it seems the skin there is hairy?!? Did you forget to soften it?
