Theme of the Week: Portraits of emotion

Shot 2:Retro madam

Thanks for all the wonderful comments yesterday, I didn't expect it at all. I have loads more of her but I think I'll bore you if I posted more of the same person. Now for something different and adventurous.

This remember I said a portrait is an artistic representation of a persons character. Well this is one I took of Tosin sometime ago, while she was bored playing with her hair, she usually get's that way when I'm playing with my camera, (who incidentally she calls my second love). I noticed the way her dreads swept past the frame whilst looking through the view finder and thought to myself, perfect, this reflects exactly her character. The extras (colours, tones etc) are just the "nutty" and "bohemian" sides of her character, yes she's quite a weird lady, but I love her like that.

What do you see in this picture?

In other news, we've added a link to help you bookmark our photoblogs. You can see it on the left of this text, together with the "about me", etc links. Hope you find this feature useful.

You asked what do I see in this picture? Erm... a lot of ear ring bling. Hehe..
Jide Alakija: Do you mean "Bling bling"?
Beautiful portrait. The lighting lends a surreal feel to it.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Ashwathy.
Wow. Gorgeous portrait. I love the effect on it- gives it an ethereal quality.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Danielle.

Jide Alakija: Thanks Keith

Yep This is what I call a portrait! Her persona comes out in this image and she is rendered beautifully. The processed light falloff on her face is fairly... good. The bling isn't too much so as to not detract from her, but enhance her overall image with contrast. If she's your partner Jide, you be a damn lucky man! Would love to have seen texture of the rolled collar a little more.
Jide Alakija: ndiginiz, thanks.
A very nice portrait!
She looks determined!
Jide Alakija: She is one very determined person. Thanks.

Cool and the night colors work well. Can qualify for the big poster for the night pub or a bold perfume.
Jide Alakija: You know that's a good point. Might use it, if Tosin allows me. Thanks.

Beautiful picture.. I so love the sentiment, I think its wonderful when someone loves you for you and allows you to be as mad or eccentric or maybe even laid back, as you will and loves that in you..long live individuality (feeling quite random today!)
Jide Alakija: Yup. that's the point. Thanks Folake.

This picture screams INDIVIDUAL!!! It would appear that she posed for the picture, however after the second look I believe it was rather spontaneous.

I love the colours and the whole wind swept effect.

See why I don't like to leave comments, I end up talking nonsense!

This is a great portrait. there's something about Tosin's beauty that's more that the ordinary... can't put my finger on it. Anyway, like the way you play with light and shadows to produce this effect. Maybe we should all give the credit to your muse, mmm...
Jide Alakija: Thanks, Morenike. I always look forward to your comments.

Okay, I am almost back to normal. Just woken up and run straight to the PC to work on even more pictures. Jide like the way you saturate your pics. Love the tones and the motion in this image. Tosin looks as beautiful as ever. Big up to the pretty model (not the good photographer). Remember Tosin must/will desert your camp for mine before I'm done, lol.
Jide Alakija: LOL. Well they always say that the orignal image has to be good to produce an even better image from it.
Thanks alot guys.
Very good, Jide. A different portrait. I like the color.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Hendra. Still working hard to get better portraits.
Nice contrasting image and i like the tones.
Jide Alakija: Thanks.

Good afternoon. All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring.
I am from Suriname and too poorly know English, tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Advantage flea control your online flea control discount pet store caters for advantage flea control for dogs kg lbs.Expect markdowns of up to off samples and past season stock including merch from current elliot, sea, thayer, ingwa melero, wendy nichol, scosha, and more."

Thank you so much for your future answers smile. Platon.

Sorry. You cannot be mad at somebody who makes you laugh - it's as simple as that.
I am from Ghana and learning to write in English, please tell me right I wrote the following sentence: "Ended plug is a tile of craze having a removed customer played by the lack administration."

With respect :p, Eleanor.
