The Intensity

Theme of the Week: Best of the Olympians

Shot 6: The Intensity

This is a shot says it all. I haven't much time to work on this shot but I think it's a really good shot as it is. You can see the strong look on this players face. With such intensity, no wonder the Olympians are champions in their league.

How am I doing so far on the theme? Are you enjoying it, or loathing it. I need some feedback from you all, at least a simple "Fantastic" or "Horrid" will do for me. You don't have to leave your own name, you can always use a nickname if you are shy. But hearing your opinions are very much appreciated.

Just to give you some insight into next week, I promise it would be special, well at least different but not so different, I'm sure you'll like it, I'm going to be displaying some of the best images I've ever produced.

Also I'm going to price the prints for next weeks theme to £9.99 for A4 and £14.99 for A3, take it as a "Sale" offering on these images, but this will only be limited to next week so take advantage of the offer while it lasts!!!.

In other news, we've added a link to help you bookmark our photoblogs. You can see it on the left of this text, together with the "about me", etc links. Hope you find this feature useful.

Did you know that we had an American Football League in the UK? I've asked some of their members to visit the blog this week, if you have any questions why not leave a message or contact the London O's at their website.

I like this shot. The intensity in the DB's eyes leaves no room for doubt where the title comes from.
I would have brightened it a tad bit for some more detail in the DB's face if it was mine. But it's yours. smile
Jide Alakija: Thanks David. I have a really high res screen, it's not really dark on it.
Good shot. I can really feel the "get set, go!".

Yep, I feel the intensity! Are you limited to a particular image size? Is this blog from a universal template? Sorry to digress. I'm kinda thinking now that... some of these images would profit from a different presentation size.
Jide Alakija: Thanks. Shutterchance hasn't got that feature yet, but I'm sure that the team behind it will consider it. I'll mention it to them.
The expression is priceless. Because of the importance of the player's face I would try to brighten it a little bit. Not everybody got an expensive flat screen monitor... :-(
Jide Alakija: Thanks Sidney. I think you have a point, but it's really hard to compensate for everyone. I'll try to make sure my images aren't too dark next time.

Jide Alakija: LOL. Now that's an interesting way to look at it. Thanks

I'm enjoying the theme. You are bringing us right into the game. Very good.
Jide Alakija: Well I'm happy you are. I think this is the way to go. I have so many images about different aspects of my photography. I'll try my best to keep up going. Thanks.

The intensity and focus in his eyes are clear to see. Great capture - very sharp. Also the lighting works fine for me.
I like it a lot... and the entire theme btw...
Jide Alakija: Thanks. I hope you like next weeks.

Naaa you have all got it wrong, the expression was "either I am going to bust you, or I'm in deep sh**" smile, either way, you ain't getting past me ) Okay on a serious tip, I have liked the series, some pic(s) did not do it for me, (u know which ones), some where absolutely stunning. As a whole, you know you are good at this type of photography. You have a knack for capturing the moment. You could give up your day study for this anytime smile.

To this image, like the expression, the context, the framing and all, but (yep there is a but) a little on the blurry side for me.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Suby. Really weird about the blurry bit because it's tech sharp on my screen.
