The Frustration on the bench

Theme of the Week: Best of the Olympians

Shot 5: The Frustration on the bench

This is a shot says it all. I have nothing more to say other than that. I'll leave the description to you.

How am I doing so far on the theme? Are you enjoying it, or loathing it. I need some feedback from you all, at least a simple "Fantastic" or "Horrid" will do for me. You don't have to leave your own name, you can always use a nickname if you are shy. But hearing your opinions are very much appreciated.

Just to give you some insight into next week, I promise it would be special, well at least different but not so different, I'm sure you'll like it, I'm going to be displaying some of the best images I've ever produced.

Also I'm going to price the prints for next weeks theme to £9.99 for A4 and £14.99 for A3, take it as a "Sale" offering on these images, but this will only be limited to next week so take advantage of the offer while it lasts!!!.

In other news, we've added a link to help you bookmark our photoblogs. You can see it on the left of this text, together with the "about me", etc links. Hope you find this feature useful.

Did you know that we had an American Football League in the UK? I've asked some of their members to visit the blog this week, if you have any questions why not leave a message or contact the London O's at their website.

Nice one! I like the grimace on his face. Aw... does it hurt somewhere? Ok, I better stop before I get beaten up. Making fun of american footballers - not a very smart thing to do. wink
Jide Alakija: Thanks man!
Great emotion in this image. The softness is very nice.
Jide Alakija: Thanks for the comment Coffeelover

Whats your secret of getting rid of all the refclections in your shots? It more than just the polariser? They are simply cool.
Jide Alakija: Actually I didn't use the polariser in this one. I generally play with the "levels" in Photoshop. Thanks for the comments.

A very expressive image Jide! Really conveys the expression of a highly competitive sportman. It's hard to determine but it looks like he might be pretty upset about something. Or on the otherhand he's just venting some steam with a boisterous yell. Really like it Jide.
Jide Alakija: Thanks ndigniz.

Great sequence of shots. They have nicely saturated colours and the softness adds an interesting twist.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Jon, I really think you have some of the most impressive shots out there. Every one I suggest you all check it out! http://zonefive.photopholio.com/

Not bad matey. Nice facial grimace (maybe he wanted to pee) smile

Can't wait to see what you are going to come up with next week. You had better make sure my wait is worth it or else...... (no pressure at all ) smile
Jide Alakija: I'm sure you'll like it. Not feeling the pressure, don't worry.

P.s. A little blurry though smile
Jide Alakija: Yeah I know. I tried really hard to recover some of the focus but I wasn't working for me. I really like the shot but the focus almost spoils it for me. Thanks.

Jide great shot. This is a picture of one of our linemen and looks like it was taken during one of the games we lost, hence the frustration.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Seni, watch out tomorrow, you might just see something interesting. wink

hi jide the picure is great , how did you manage to get so close?Ha ha, ok to all who have made comments you have made me laugh and agree. here is the truth it was frustration and anger,an yes I was venting with a growl, an no it did not hurt(ha ha) and no I did not want to pee(ha ha).It was just me frushstrated with our offence to put it politly making mistakes(some other apt words come to mind but hey).jide hope to see you this season so I can see you about getting my own of this shot and maybe we can provide you with more . Thanks Gee
Jide Alakija: Thanks Gee. I must admit, pointing the lens at you was a very scary affair, but I knew it would make a very good shot. Also it was Sacha who gave me the go ahead to putting this up!!! (Sorry Sach). I'm happy you like it, I have many other shots of players expressions pity I wouldn't be able to show them in this series, maybe during a part two of it. Thanks

I think being on the bench is harder than playing sometimes.
Jide Alakija: I can imagine. Thanks Dave.
You captured his emotions very well! It looks like pain !
Jide Alakija: Thanks Sidney.

I feel the pain in his man's face cos i was there with him. This game was thee most single emotional event of my life, winning the way we did and for the whom. Not just for ourselves but for our dearly departed brother Collis #39 who was taken from us before the season started. That was our destiny for the season. Seeing these pictures are capturing images,as a player, don't get to see. Absolutely great, each and every shot. Hope to see for this season coming and can't wait to see what pictures you have of me.
Jide Alakija: Thanks player, really deep words there. Look forward to showing you some more later on.
Well captured emotion. Enjoy your weekend.
Jide Alakija: Thanks Hendra, have a good weekend too.
